Dark mode problems

I can’t turn off dark mode and I can’t read the words with dark mode on because I have vision issues. If I could turn the dark mode off that would be great. This is really frustrating because I read your paper every morning but if dark mode is going to stay on like this I can’t do it anymore.

No Longer a Viable News Source

I used to utilize Mlive for local news almost every day. Over the last few months almost all of the news articles of interest are now behind a paywall and I rarely open the app. Apparently ad revenue isn’t enough. What’s interesting though is how almost none of the sports articles are behind the paywall (which also aren’t news but are always on the news page), but almost all of the COVID articles are now behind a paywall. It’s almost like they’re trying to cash in on the pandemic or something hmmm.

Seems to be busted

Lately the app seems busted. I signed in on my iPhone when app started. But when I select an “subscriber exclusive” story I get a prompt to signup or sign in. If I signin again and then move on to another “subscriber exclusive” story I get prompted again.

I fail to understand why The Wolverines and Spartans are covered in the app and not WMU, CMU, and EMU sports. Before, the subscription policy it was. I’m very unhappy and how do I get a refund? It wasn’t worth the price! I don’t see an email address of course on the app to correspond to. Please advise. Thank you.

Notifications need work

No way to turn off notifications about high school football. During the season it takes up an inordinate proportion of the app’s notifications. I could not care less about high school sports.

What’s Up

This app has gotten so bad. You can’t even open the obits to read them. Also when trying to read a post it says it is no longer available so you go back and click on the picture to get the story. Then the very next article you have to click on the story and not the picture. I contacted them and said they knew there was a problem with the obits and working on it…..that was nearly a month ago.

Article worth reading all require a membership.

Even Covid statistics articles require a paid membership. Mlive, seriously, Hulu is less per month.

Full Access Does Not Work

I paid $99.99 for full access. Does not work on my Dell laptop. Keeps asking me to pay another $99.99 to subscribe. I want my money back. Only works on apple products. Called MLive they said I should have ordered from their site if I wanted that to work. Right.

80% locked content unless you pay

Used to be decent. Now the majority of articles are locked subscriber paid content. Another company clinging to a dying model. Deleted the app and downloaded a local news app from WoodTV which provides Michigan news for free.
