Keynote has long been the best presentation software out there. But the glitches keep getting worse. Since the 3/30/21 update, I can't save any changes to my files. The only way to do so, is to make the change, then duplicate the file and delete the original. This is a pain in the arse. Get your stuff together Apple.
brand new macbook air, updated, and strong wifi. Yet keynote, numbers, imovie, etc won't download updates. The circel just spins and spins and spins. Performing more like a crapple computer than an apple
THANKS FOR NOTHING, KEYNOTE! MY KEYNOTE FILES ARE NOW LOCKED AFTER I UPDATED. THAT'S ONE TERRIFIC "FIX" YOU NUMBSKULLS HAVE!
I've been using Keynote for my main presentation creation app for years. I love the simplicity that it demostrates and many other amazing features that you have to pay to get from using other apps. Give a big shout out to the Shape option, it offers so many geometric shapes and pattens that allows users to make a quick presentation without searching resources they need anywhere. If one thing I need from future updates, I'd like to see more new shapes and categories added in this feature.
It would be a lot more helpful if updating was not essential for collaborations. Flexibility to update later would be very helpful
this is a disaster... working on an important presentation, now I cannot edit it becasue I should be updating it, however there is no update available!!!
Since I updated to Big Sur, Keynote "Crashes Immediately Upon Opening". The "Geniuses @ Apple" have no idea what is going on and or why Keynote crashes....and their elite "rocket scientist" engineers are abolsutely clueless Apple.
First things first: Keynote is far superior to any other presenting software I have ever used. Yes, that includes PowerPoint. Not only is it more intuitive, but it packs a lot of features that Microsoft's presentation software lacks. While it is certainly possible to make an ugly presentation with Keynote, it's much more difficult than it is in PowerPoint... and that quality can be seen by viewers when presenting. If you want to impress, you need Keynote. If you want a quick and easy way to put together a great presentation that looks great, you need Keynote. If you present at all... you need Keynote. Unfortunately, there is one area where PowerPoint has an edge. It isn't even some complicated matter... it's multitasking. I run a youth program, and I need both my MacBook Pro and my iPad Pro to run tech for it because when Keynote is open on my Mac I cannot use it to control music. Switching between apps is not possible while a presentation is running — and you can pause a presentation with the "H" key, but it takes the show down on the second display when doing so. You can play a presentation in a window to solve this, but that doesn't let you use the presenter view... and your screensaver comes on over the slideshow, too. PowerPoint for Mac easily lets you switch windows while presenting! This is important enough that I actually considered switching over, but there are too many drawbacks to make the switch. So for now, I'm either using two devices or using my phone to control Spotify on my Mac since I can't actually switch to it while presenting. This is such a simple thing to implement (default behavior on a Mac, even, so they must be disabling it!) and there's no excuse for it. I assure you, my MacBook Pro is more than capable of multitasking while presenting a slideshow. It shouldn't be an issue.
Inability to add SVG figures to keynote is a liability.
