I have used and loved GarageBand for years. I recently upgraded from the 2018 iPad 6th gen to the 2020 12.9 inch iPad Pro. One of the biggest reasons I upgraded was for the screen real estate, but it does not appear that GarageBand really takes advantage of that. It is very awkward to use the virtual instruments and see it shifted so far down on the screen. Not to mention, my fingers are unnecessarily cramped for such a large display. I really hope that can change with a future update because it would do wonders to make 12.9 inch iPad Pro users feel like they’re getting the full experience GarageBand has to offer.
I’ve been using this app for almost four years now, during a time which I knew close to nothing about music. After playing around for a solid year, this gave me a good grasp on the central workings of music, from a steady beat to more classical elements. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the amount of pack additions, especially in the last year or so. However, I do have some critiques. 1: I know it’s possible on some other interfaces, but there must be a way to look at the tracks and the instrument at one time. Going back and forth hasn’t been the best experience for me. 2: this is a little petty, but the loops need to be organized better. The fact that I have to look up ‘piano’ instead of just putting it into an instrument is ridiculous. Also, adding onto this, there should be more loops of different time signatures. 3: This is probably the worst of my critiques; where is Macne nana. I’ve heard of rumors that she was created by GarageBand, (hence the Mac) and I’d love it if there was any sort of text to song audio that could be used, especially if it worked the same as the sampler, or maybe even the smart drummers. Overall, this app is probably the best mobile music creation app I’ve used. The rest cost money for what can be done for free here.
The best honestly 🤷🏾♂️
On tracks can you add more guitars like new electrics and laspauls
Can you add a marching snare drum
My loop button is gone, and whenever i try inserting an audio it doesn’t work.
Why are there restrictions to what apps are on the “App Store”? And remove the restrictions please.
Recent update on garage band made the program not only fail on new levels, by completely lagging out my Mac that ran the previous version almost FLAWLESSLY, but also went and completely erased over 105 of the songs I had recorded on the program itself. Also, the new version is even more flawed being that you literally cannot exit the app without completely shutting down the entire computer and restarting it. I don’t understand why Apple would take a perfectly functioning application, and absolutely destroy any and every aspect that made it enjoyable in the first place.
Legit I can find no way to share a song anywhere. No matter what I try, no matter what I do, there’s no way fir me to share it. This is, quite obviously, a huge problem. I don’t think it’ll ever be fixed, and I don’t think I’ll ever re-download it. Waste of my time.
It is pretty good but just a few things I would do different like it is kinda hard to understand at first but great app, Love It👍😁
