crashes every time. I think they are moving to the cloud reader and gave up on this app.
Amazon, you dissapoint me here. Software that makes reading super difficult is what this is. Pathetic, I spit on who allowed this out the door, wish I give it a negative rating. Fix it amazon. and Amazon.read doesnt help much, basically i ordered a book i cant read now. THanks amazon, you failed miserably here
Its not a bad application, but I like to build collecitons. They synch between my iphone and ipad, but they will not show up on my Mac. If I create a collection on my Mac, I cannot see them on the ipad or iphone. Makes it difficult to organize.
This is annoying. I want to export my highlights from each chapter in otder to export them as flashcards. I can do this on iOS but not on the Mac unfortunately.
I am extremely disappointed that the Kindle app for Macs is lacking very basic functionality (e.g., windowing), as it cannot open two books both purchased from Amazon simultaneously. This is an especially glaring omission given that the Apple Books app allows me to open two books both purchased from Apple simultaneously with ease. Additionally, the desktop Kindle app ignores basic Mac conventions like Dark Mode, resulting in a nearly blinding screen glare when the all-white Kindle screen is brought to the foreground amongst a sea of Dark Mode windows. Of note, I have 7 different applications launched on my Mac as I write this, and the Kindle app is the only app that does not support Dark Mode. Developers, please update the Kindle app to support these very basic features.
Unbelieveable picece of fecies. Doesn't work at all
I can read my book, love app
I do a lot of book reviews on Goodreads and Amazon these days and appreciate my Kindle’s ability to quickly post on both of those platforms. I was working on my desktop this morning and decided to try the interface on mac. Everybody was right, this application is the worst. It’s like the developers weren’t even trying to create something functional. I’m immediatly deleting this garbage pile.
I like the app, but it's totally bizarre that retina Macs have been out for at least three years and this app still presents book covers in a pixelated low resolution that stands apart from every other big name app as ugly and outdated.
I launched my Kindle for Mac today and it worked. I checked for updates and there was an update so I selected it. I then went to Amazon and tried to bring down a new book. Now Kindle for Mac crashes repeatedly and will not run, at all. The person at Amazon in chat "helping" is sending me to some unknown site to uninstall the application to reinstall it. I will lose my books if I do. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. So much for 'stability and bug fixes' with an update.
