Useful app but why force me to make an account to view anything?

1
Useful app but terrible user experience. It’s completely unnecessary to force me to make an account to view any details of anything. Very clearly just a strategy to collect emails and bump their user numbers. Honestly the app is useful but I can’t stand apps that collect data about you or force user sign ups for no reason. Would be a 4 or 5 star app otherwise and I don’t remember it always being like this.

Love this App

5
I love AllTrails! It’s very convenient for planning and sending trail info to others. I love being able to read about conditions of the trail from others who have hiked it recently. Paying for the subscription is so worth it if you hike a decent amount. It’s nice to know I won’t get lost, especially on snowshoe trails that are harder to follow normally.

Best ever

5
I paid for it after 4 years of the free service just to pay respect for keeping me safe. There are flaws sometimes like parking instructions but do your research. 5 stars. Very happy and will not stray.

Share a link instead of image

2
How come you can only share an image of a trail from the app and not the link to it? An image is utterly useless when trying to share the route with someone.

Reasonable

3
Nice features like downloading maps but hardly all inclusive in terms of trails.

Expensive to use now

2
Years ago you could load your hiking area and then use the app offline by putting your phone in airplane mode. Now even doing this takes you to a blank screen informing you that you are offline. AllTrails is great i guess if you don’t mind paying a high yearly fee but i will keep looking for a more economical option.

Of the best trail maps I’ve used

5
I am incredibly satisfied with this app, it allows me to scout out a large number of well kept trails all around the US (have not been able to use it outside of US). To include popular routes taken, distances, average time, & the ability to make my own route & track progress. Even if there is no marked trail. 10/10 please devs, don’t break it.

Non-working App

1
After close to 2 years use, the app refuses to open & wants my Google, Facebook or Apple password. Wouldn’t accept my current password. So I Checked “ forgot my Password “ Received a link via email.. The link wouldn’t work, after two or three try’s & following instructions to the T. Link would not work, end result Deleted The All Trails app.

Great potential, bad functionality

2
Has all the groundwork for a good app but just functions so poorly. Can’t browse the map for a trail without the map closing out on me for more than a few minutes. If I look at a trail detail for too long, it closes the map and I have to find that area again. I can’t scroll along the trail map without it closing and hiding the highlighted trail. This shouldn’t be so frustrating.
