Dear Airbnb, I hope one of your execs team could see this! This is devastating experience for me! I’ve been on Airbnb for 6 years both as the host and traveler! I booked a long term booking in Beijing and the host made me uncomfortable by pushing me for personal ID, communication off Airbnb message. The host even add my personal IM! I felt comfortable and called the host to request cancel my booking and host agreed to refund me 29 nights with charging me for the 1st night. After this call, I went ahead and cancelled my booking. The host is A FRAUD and never refunded me! Now I am desperately seeking help from customer support team from Airbnb and being fooled and told that every party has their story and Airbnb is just a neutral platform! As a loyal customer, I put trust on Airbnb and so does the words from the host agreeing to refund me! This is extremely disappointing that Airbnb didn’t give the benefit of the doubt to their loyal customer! I will contact police department to try to get the call recording between me and host! I NEED Airbnb to take the accountability and not shy away from their responsibility!
it is known that the business is with the hosts but if the guests are complaining and have several complaints it is for a reason and not a simple coincidence but they play down the importance of our voice
Can’t even book a house for our 2 year anniversary in our area because it’s my first time using their service and I’m under 25.
They will take your deposit even if it COVID related!
They charged us a service fee for a “free cancellation” booking which we canceled way before the deadline. They deliberately hide their policy deep in tons of text. I’m still wondering what did we pay for if it was canceled? What kind of service did we receive? Completely ridiculous and desperate to make money off of some scammy rules.
I love Airbnb but they have to get it together. It’s extremely frustrating when you’re looking for an entire house, you select the option, and it’s a bunch of ads for basement rooms for rent with “quiet hours”. I understand how a basement can be seen as a separate space, but they really need a section for those specifically. Long story short, make sure you read the ads well because it’s not always “an entire place to yourself” especially when you have “quiet hours” listed 🙄
As I was looking for a vacation rental, my little brother (4 years old) got into my iPad when I was not looking and accidentally booked a vacation rental I was not going to book. I immediately cancelled within the next 30 minutes (way within the 24 hour deadline) I was refunded only 1036 dollars and the service fee of 313 air bnb kept even after the host that was accidentally booked said she would waive her strict cancellation policy fee if only air bnb would get in touch with her so I could get my full refund back. My husband and I are newly married and of course are affected by the COVID pandemic as is everyone. Every amount of money helps and we have a house payment to pay this coming week. It is everything we can do to take one vacation a year. Air bnb support services was awful and it took hours for someone to respond or call me back and never tired to contact the host. Instead of contacting the host, they ignored me. I called for supervisor and left multiple messages with no response or call back. I will be leaving a bad review on the air bnb app and will never use this app again. I will strictly use Vrbo and my co workers and classmates have now decided to switch too due to poor policies and stealing money. I will also talk to all my friends and family to never use air bnb again and even take this matter to social media. I was okay until I got ignored. No one should take my money especially if the host was willing to waive her strict cancellation policy. I feel belittled from this company and ignored. Air bnb is not for its customers
The support team will not be any use to you at all if the host scams you or fails to uphold documented promises. All they will do is ask you to ‘please work it out with the host’. And what do they tell you if the host is a scam artist and won’t comply? ‘Please work it out with the host’. In other words there is no protection or support from consumers and I’m not sure how this is all legal. They won’t even provide me the last name of the host scamming me, even though they have their full identity verified (allegedly). Terrible customer support.
A lot of great things about this ap but sharing some potential improvements. Ability to save searches with filters For refreshing filters would like to see just the new stuff, not things I viewed yesterday Like that I can ‘save’ a place as favorite but would be great to have thumbs down mark so I know would never be interested in staying at a spot. With COVID looking for spots with good outdoor eating, can you add ‘backyard seating/backyard dining’ as filter item
With the new coronavirus guidelines, no reason is valid to cancel a stay. Don’t waste your time. In my experience, I scheduled a month stay at a place with nice pictures. Once I saw the condition of the AirBnb I had to leave. I stayed for 3 of 30 days and the host was able to keep 27 days of payment. The host refused to reply to me as well as customer support and was able to run away with over $1100. The property had multiple empty guest rooms yet their excuse for refund denial was that I prevent people from booking. Virtual tours NEED to be implemented and I still want my money back.
