Guest not protected

Booked the place in December 15th, for May accommodation. Host canceled 3 days prior my check in, I was not refunded! Was left me with limited selection to choose from and had to overpay for accommodation, while I was on vacation already. And Yet, 20+ support members come in, act to help, ask scripted questions, go over scripted conversation and ghost out, and cycle continues 30+ days.

I was scammed by a technicality

They took $2200 from me because of a technicality in their booking rules. I was attempting to book an airbnb for somebody else, not realizing that this is not allowed. Instead of helping me to just switch the booking to my friends account, they cancelled my reservation with no refund. What a huge, massive pile of crap they just decided to take on a longtime airbnb user. Airbnb support decided they could not help. Be careful, if Airbnb would not help me in this (east) situation, they’re defintely not going to help you with anything else.

The app is fine. The company is terrible

The app itself functions fine. Appears to be a lot of good options for a good price. However, hosts are allowed to cancel on you at anytime and Air Bnb’s terms of service do not require them to find new lodging if this happens! If you call them, they promise to call back with a solution then never call back. When you ask to speak with a supervisor, you are told they can put in a request but supervisors have 24 hours to respond. Which is super helpful when you’re about to sleep on the streets in a strange city! Air bnb has demonstrated time and time again it does not care about the safety of its customers. Spend the money on a hotel. Plus, you don’t have to pay a cleaning fee then clean the place yourself at a hotel!

Limiting options

Super limited to search for an entire home since AirBnb changed its design with different accommodations types (room, beach, lake, country, etc). How about just adding HOUSE option on that list? I don’t want a room, neither do I want a castle. Besides this ordeal, the new features combines rentals when there isn’t one option available for entire chosen stay. How about keeping these features optional so we can have control at what to look for?!? This update makes it impossible to search for house in specific cities. The map adjusts throughout the globe instead of staying in the specific chosen area making the search utterly complicated and lengthy. Please fix it back! I just want to search for an entire home wherever I want to search with my specific dates without this whole mess. Thanks.

I can’t recall last time I had a great experience

Sometimes a good deal, but there is always a catch, intense stink, dirtiness, crazy landlords, workers entering without asking, pesticide spray, missing kitchen, Airbnb has really become a last resort, van is luxurious in comparison

Not recommend

I had a reservation and I canceled it according to their policies and I don't understand why they say I don't have any refund. and the truth is my first time using this application. according to their policies they have to return half of what they had already paid. I am canceling according to his policies and I do not understand why he says that I do not have a refund.

Big fan of Airbnb!

Having been a host in the past for Airbnb, and in the past, and currently a traveler, utilizing Airbnb, I can say it is a wonderful app that is easy to navigate. I have met so many wonderful people both as guests and hosts through Airbnb. Their customer service has been nothing short of spectacular.

Slow Customer Service and Unresponsive Hosts

I’ve been reaching out Airbnb and my host for weeks about cancelling my reservation. The host refuses to answer me. Airbnb support was helpful at first but has now mostly went quiet. The host published an entire rental contract in their house rules and has a very clear refund policy and now is ignoring me when I request it. I’ve been using Airbnb for years now and I’m shocked by the low level of support. One of the first customer service reps said in email: “I’m really sorry this is not your expected outcome. I hope you don’t take this against me as I am bound to abide by Airbnb’s policy. I hope you see that we’ve tried our best to help in this matter” WHAT? ARE YOU OKAY? Now I’m worried about my own refund/safety with this host as well as how Airbnb is treating their employees. How is this a real response???
