I read the paper in the App just like a newspaper, but do not download it. I just go page by page, and it’s good. Except for one thing: while engrossed in reading, if I accidentally brush my iPad or touch it in ANY way, the App brings up “Close story,” so I have to click on it to return to where I was reading. VERY ANNOYING. Breaks my train of thought. And don’t tell me to read in the “download version,” please. I like pretending that I am still reading a REAL newspaper and not staring at a screen. Thank you for listening.
I support this excellent newspaper, however the interface lacks a prominent search option.
It’s missing things that make reading a newspaper online an enhanced experience like hyperlinks and the ability to comment on articles easily and without accessing Facebook.
Back to one star... the N&O just couldn’t leave the new e-edition alone. The annoying, ever present banner ads are back, taking up valuable screen space. To make it worse, they can’t be closed ( as the old edition allowed). You guys just don’t get it.....
With each update, the app gets harder to use. This beta version is horrible and customer support is worthless.
Give us back the download. I live in south Florida and do not need some of the paper. Also, the new version is really awful.
A new version! I am using iPad This review is for V. 8.0 ‘beta’, new today Such a huge improvement! Thank you, There were so many things wrong with the old version, this scores as a remarkable improvement. Type is MUCH clearer; They removed the stupid arrows on either side of the page so now the ‘page’ fills the entire screen rather than losing ¼ to ‘arrows’. I can now pinch to enlarge and the type does not go all fuzzy.. Page turning is easier. Loads faster. I have absolutely no negative comments about this version, except possibly that they are calling it a ‘beta’ version. If it becomes the actual I will up my 4 star rating to 5. Thank you for finally making the N&O readable!
Hard to find any stories. Hard to find writers I like (incorporate a follow feature?). Hard to find old stories ... not great for viewing photos. I will keep subscribing and the product is still good but the app on a phone is not the way to go.
What can I say- have to sign in twice to get to customer service, poor response as per other reviews and customer service is horrid. You can tell their demise by the lack of investment. This, and the left slanted articles are why I’ve reduced my subscription to only 2 days per week and probably won’t renew. Danger Will Robinson😡 Update: Access to Account data is lacking. Very minimal info is shown and often incorrect despite contacting Customer Service.
Online is a poor application. Does not utilize full screen. I pay for a service and I get advertising. No wonder why old school paper business is diminishing. Need some developers that understand technology and put something out there that customers will be from.
