Amazing must have app. My only complaint is it is difficult to find the particular map you need.
I’ve been an Avenza user for several years and is my go-to app for hiking, etc. However, with the latest update I lost all of my personally imported maps and can’t import other maps...even though I’m paid up with my annual subscription. Never had this problem before. Dazed and Confused
Literally as good as the paper version and a lot handier. Love it.
If you want to find specific USGS quads, and/or perhaps those quads just north/south/east/west of one you have, this app (and associated website) will drive you mad with frustration. There seems to be no simple way to navigate across the grid of quads. For me, not worth the trouble and irritation of fussing with it.
It would be cool to be able to down load current lightening strike and earthquake maps also
What a GREAT way to ride on trails we have never been on!! Very accurate! Love it!
This app was a super handy tool out paddling in Prince William Sound! I was able to reference topos for hikes and camp spots and nautical charts for shore line and water features!
Good tool for my work.
I’m a wildland firefighter swear by it.
As long as you have access to some sort of GIS software to make your own maps, Avenza is one of the best apps out there for backcountry navigation and land-based work
