The good: -very functional -allows you to make your profile as long and detailed as you want -seems to have far fewer scammers and spammers than other apps of its type The bad: -not many quality guys, at least in my area -most of the messages I get are from guys hundreds of miles away -rules about profile pictures seem very arbitrary, for example no collages. Why?
Without a doubt Scruff delivers a daily feast of gay men. You can spend hours reading the profiles and viewing face photos of aspiring young gay men on your Smartphone in the privacy of your home or office. You are allowed to “woof” any man that you might fancy. This is purely your individual choice. You can even contact any of these individuals if their profile offers any interest to you. It is up to the individual you try to contact to message you back. It may be problematic as to whether you receive a message back because that is based on mutual interest of looks, hobbies, business interests and numerous other factors. These factors can be included under the very general term of “chemistry”. The basic plan is free. You are limited on the number of guys you can view. It is still very generous on the number of men you can view. For a nominal monthly fee you can upgrade to the “Pro” plan. With this plan you can view many more gay men along with their profiles as well as message any guy you might want. It is very addictive to browse the guys. It is very entertaining as well. I would highly recommend this app! If you are a gay man I guarantee you will enjoy yourself!
The pro filters are not improved enough compared to non-pro filter search. This is basically Grindr now...
Really enjoy the app - lots of beautiful men!!
To hard to use keep it simple Simple simple simple great app but hard to use simple simple simplicity
would be 5 stars but i ran into bugs to where people I would talk to, would have been online 15 minutes ago but their profile says online still instead of saying online 15 mins ago. miles and age have bugs that need some work too ;)
Terrible 3rd party hired technical support who don’t even actually pay attention to profile content or photographs. They just selectively blanket sensor photos and then you have to contest and then they will permit them to be posted.
Not sure if human beings run this app or not. After having a selfie removed multiple times for violating their rules/regulations, I reached out to their support staff to figure out why my perfectly acceptable photo was being removed. They sent me a canned response claiming I can’t use a landscape photo as my profile photo... I guess, a male identifying human can be easily mistaken with an Ansel Adams photograph.
I just logged on, and found out that my picture from summer in a bathing suite was too racy, and removed. I hope Scruff doesn’t become the new Grind. I’ve always liked scruff for its community of men, not twinks and little boys
The developers don’t respond to feedback and support is nonexistent
