I have been a New Yorker reader forever. If you love good writing, witty articles and pithy cartoons, this is where to go. It’s the gold standard.
Look forward to it every week.
Doesn’t save my place when reading long articles
The other New Yorker app (why are there two?) has better navigation. But loses your place when reading articles
The new version has many many many glitches and takes long time to load. Miss the simpler version sans bells and whistles. Please fix or revert.
The New Yorker provides insight into the City for outsiders and a glimpse of the outside world for New Yorkers. There’s no better compilation of reporting, humor, fiction and reviews in one location on a weekly (well, mostly weekly) basis.
Twenty years ago, I used to raid the used magazine racks at Bookman’s in Tucson, Arizona searching for back issues of the New Yorker for a dollar. Now I live in Barcelona and maintain a subscription. The long form essay puts perspective to current events in a far more considered way than breaking news. I enjoy the articles, stories, commentary, and cultural reviews with each new issue. It’s an important part of how I stay informed and connected to a wider tribe of thinkers, writers and cultural enthusiasts. Bravo!
I’ve had a print subscription since the early 1980’s. I’ve had a digital subscription since they offered one. And yet the NY’er app can’t remember this for more than a few days. And logging back in is always a major PITA that requires resetting my password. Condé, you’re huge and wealthy. Fix it!
Very user friendly experience.
