Okay I’m not no math quiz expert but I had been watching a tutorial by an instructor on YouTube showing the use of this calculator 10Bii I had been following him step by step and noticed my calculations we’re off not just by one hundred but by over a fourteen hundred. Will someone please attend to this matter. I’ll change my rating after this issue has been resolved.
As a mortgage loan officer this app has saved me countless hours preparing analyses for my clients. It makes me look like a pro and has earned me business!
This calculator is great. I have compared it to my actual HP 10bii and the answers are the same. I noticed some of the other reviewers mentioned that their answers were off by a couple hundred or thousand dollars. I had this problem when I first downloaded and thought the calculator was trash. But then I noticed that the Payments Per Year (which is visible right under the answer display) was set to 12. I believe the HP 10bii is factory set to 1 Per Year. You can change this setting by selecting the three lines in the upper right-hand corner, clicking Settings, and just typing in 1 for Payments/Year. After I changed this setting, my answers matched exactly. Additionally, make sure your display is set to more than one zero for intermediate calculations. Your answers will be off by a couple cents or dollars if you are rounding up intermediate calculations while working out a problem. You can do this by clicking a number (for example, select the number 4 for four zeros to display) then click the Orange button and then the Equal sign and it’ll display your selected number of zeros. Overall great calculator and the layout is perfect!
Cometí el error de comprar una HP real y esta es mucho, mucho mejor que la real. Muy superior en muchos aspectos.
I have been buying discounted paper for many years. Always had to carry a financial calculator before this fabulous app came along. I love the easy to use interface and also the amortization table feature.
Would prefer to delete this app. It may be a great calculator for some, but not presented in a way as to warn me it was not user friendly.
This App does everything my HP10bii does AND it keeps track of certain previous calculations. I prefer the app over the calculator for running amortizations in particular, because I can see the entire schedule all at once instead of just one figure at a time. The only advantage the stand-alone calculator has, is that you can use it for proctored tests, whereas you obviously can’t just use an app on your phone for that. I recently used the app during negotiations for a new car purchase and saved myself over $4k in the process, by not just trusting the dealer to do the calculations. The dealer just wanted to provide me with the selling price and the monthly payment. Having this app in my pocket allowed me to know ALL of the terms, to call BS on a misquoted interest rate, and to be certain I got the best deal possible all the way around.
I love the setup of this calculator and the features it offers overall, making it a total score for me of 5 stars. I really like that you can review the amortization schedule on your phone in real time, I love it because it’s on my phone for convenience and it really looks very professional when I pull it out to do calculations in a business meeting. However, for some reason, all my calculations seem to always be off by several hundred or thousand dollars each time I do calculations on it. I tried to reset it and recalculate my numbers but they still keep coming back off by several hundreds or thousands depending on what I’m calculating, comparing it to my HP calculations each time and other calculators I use to make sure it’s not me, however, my hp and other calculators are calculating exactly the same numbers each time and the same answer shows up. I guess it’s ok to be off by a few pennies sometimes but not hundreds and thousands of dollars when you need good numbers. I hope the company can fix this minor issue and make comparisons to hp and other calculators because I really love using this wonderful calculator everyday I work. I will download your latest version as soon as this gets fixed...Thank you!
Look and feel of the HP, is worth a few dollars to have something accurate and simple to use.
A date entered in 1.012010 format is shown on the screen as January 2, 2010. It seems the dates in general are not interpreted correctly. Please fix. Otherwise. I like this app.
