Good But…

4
They push the top tier subscription hard and intentionally bait users with new features that readily exist in competitors less costly EFB. Most frustrating is the inability to export a gps file for my flight plan so I can import to my in panel GRT. The inability to enlarge text is another big issue. I have 20/20 vision and use an iPad mini and constantly struggle. Might need to get a bigger iPad. Overall a great product with huge user base but I honestly think other EFB’s are just as good for less money. I have a total of 3 EFB’s and compare them constantly. Finally, it feels as though ForeFlight is pushing away us leisure guys for the corporate and deep pocket folks. Maybe they should consider spinning another company off and give better focus to general aviation.

Great app for flying

Everything you need to be a great and safe pilot. In addition to other aviation sources and stuff. This app might save your life one day. All military people use it and I do use it too as a Civil Air Patrol member

Unable to increase fonts sizes. Serious Overheat issues, iPad Pro 11-inch

3
I was very excited about using the supposed best app in navigation, but I kind of disappointed, it is difficult to read its texts, settings, airport data etc, FF font size adjustment only applies to the map, the rest of the entire app fonts nothing, Which makes it difficult to read for people aged 45 and over. After playing with FF on ground for a few days, I went to my first flight with the new iPad and FF , Right during taxi out it overheat so much that it shutdown, so My old Samsung S2 with FIF-GPS APK are much more trustworthy than iPad and FF. Foreflight does not show a virtual ILS descent as others $ 30 Apps. FF good thing is that it has Free Gov approach plates from the USA, VFR and IFR LOW and Hight altitude charts. I bought it because it is maybe the only iPad APP that has world Nav Database, but for Central and South America it costs another $ 200 for Jeppessen charts. The android APK I used before has Nav Database of the world, with virtual ILS, but you have to download the approach plates and manually copy to a folder, so FF is a lot better. The FF instrument gauges on the map are only 9, it should be able to added more data boxes, especially in portrayed position. It would be better to be able to add DATA Boxes (instruments) to the sides of the map as in other apps like iFly GPS or FlyQ to have more data in view. FF map doesn’t have a Degree Arc indication, like Garmin Pilot App have, or maybe there is a On-off button for, but can’t find it. Definitely ForeFlight have a lot of information but the small buttons and text not friendly to find them when you most needed in the clouds. I hope FF add a setting to increase fonts size on all menus, other than that I will have to loose 200 $ and switch to different app.

Flight planning

2
I’ve used Foreflight for almost every flight and I am now a corporate pilot of 2700hours flight time. In this time I’ve found some issues but most everything is amazing. Biggest problem is you pay 300 a year for the best package and with that are airplane performance profiles. I can say without a doubt that anything that calculates fuel in pounds, FF just isn’t accurate. If FF says I need 3000 point for a flight m, I really need 3500. This is on all the airframes I fly, G100, CJ1/2, Citation 2, citation Ultra. I don’t know why FF can’t seem to get it down properly when fltplan.com has been doing it for years and it’s a free service. Yes you can adjust the profiles fuel burn to some degree. But that’s shouldn’t be standard when I have to increase estimated fuel burn by 15%. Additionally if I make a route from A to B, the flight time shown on the flight plan is WAY WAY WAY to short. If FF says 45min flight, wheels up to wheels down its more of an Hour and change flight. If it says 1 hour flight time, it’s realistically 1hour 20min. This is unacceptable for 300$ a year. You can add all the worthless synthetic vision you want but you need to master your preflight planning numbers or else you will never EVER beat fltplan.com. The only thing FF is really good for are approach plates and diagrams. Fix it

Frustrating

2
It’s really frustrating that ForeFlight doesn’t allow a way to export flight plans as an Garmin .FPL file so the flight plans can be imported into a G1000 using an SD card. There is also no easy to to transfer a flight plan from ForeFlight to MSFS 2020.

Team ForeFlight Doesn’t Disappoint!

5
Joshua at Team ForeFlight is a true professional! I needed some help setting up my plane’s performance profile and he showed real patience and professionalism as he stepped me through the process and answered all my questions. Well done!

ForeFlight Team is innovated

5
I have use FF for about 3years now (pro subscription). Each update has new features that are innovated. One new feature, Flight Binders, make a complicated and time consuming task to find Arrivals, Approaches, SIDS, and STARs when you have to change a clearance and makes it simple!
