Terminated my membership without any explanation as to why. I had even paid for a background check so I could try to get pet care jobs. I had a decent profile started and had reached out to members seeking help, though I had no luck getting any one to respond. I was a pet groomer for 12 years, and worked in a doggy day care, an animal shelter, a veterinary clinic and managed a 501(c)3 pet rescue for 6 years. I am a highly qualified pet professional who was looking to supplement my income by helping others with their pets. I’ve had the membership a month when I get an email notifying me that they terminated it. I’m not happy with how care.com treated me and angry that I wasted $30 on a background check. I will never use their services again, neither for seeking a care provider or for seeking jobs.
It has been a while since I have used this service- there are more scare tactics now, trying to get parents to pay more for extra background checks. The app and website are slow, clunky, lack spell check and are not user friendly!
I subscribed and paid (what I thought) was a high price for 3 months thinking that I would find someone by now. I posted for a child care job 3 different times. I received some interest but nothing has pan out with the applications. When I reached out to several caregivers on here 90% of the time they never got back with me. One did get back with me (weeks later) and tried to work something out. But in the long run it just wasn’t going to work out (not her fault). After reading some more reviews I realized that that some of these people may not be getting messages. The lady that did respond back did make a mention that she usually gets a notification but for some reason did not with the message that I left her. I would think with a company that is charging as much as this one is that it would work better...but it dose not. I feel like I have completely wasted my money. I usually don’t buy apps and now I know why I don’t.
I’ve messaged 22 people looking for a sitter for my 2 girls. No one messages you back. The app it’s self is fine! But for $80 for the year was a waste of my money! No one responds to your adds and the girls pictures look like there trying to impress 16 year old boys! No impressed AT ALl
I have my profile denied way after I pay for it. I even can log in in my account again and I was charged for 2 months in last then 2 weeks. I already trying to contact the company though email and they don’t answer me. I have no idea what else I can do to have my money back!
I put an ad on and immediately started getting replies. We got a housekeeper hired the day she cane o we and she started in the spot, literally grabbed her cleaning supplies and got busy. The site takes a huge weight off your mind of trying to figure out who to call and where to begin the tedious interview process. Everything is done for you, you just make a decision! I love ur and I’m very excited that it’s expanded beyond babysitting, the other options are great for the elderly and disabled as well!!!
Care.com is not a website I would recommend. After being on here for four years, with 21 five star reviews they unfairly and unjustifiably removed me from the website & did not refund me for a subscription. They are money hungry, have terrible business practices, and take advantage of the young women who sign up to be nannies on this website. I would never recommend signing up on this site that is similar to Craiglist, I’ve had people not pay me for my services, gone to messy filthy houses, and people short my hours. When I report these “employers” to Care.com they do NOTHING about it. But when one employer accuses me of wrongly stealing her tablet, they immediately remove me from the website and shut down my account EVEN THOUGH I proved to them I had mailed back her tablet & SHE HAD CALLED to tell them it was a mistake. Care.com you have really rubbed me the wrong way! DO NOT SIGN UP ON THIS WEBSITE!
There’s not enough perimeters to search for childcare. People are just allowed to leave their accounts open with zero activity. So I waste my time contacting people that aren’t looking, or already have a full time job. Also, if I filter that I’m looking for someone within a specific price range, why would you show me people outside of that price range?!
You used to be able to send messages/ apply to job etc for free. Now you need to pay $20 a month minimum to let parents respond to your applications. Switching to a different babysitting app
Great app. I just wish there was a way to mark applicants in messages. Like not available Right now, contact later etc. We just hired our first care giver. What a wonderful service this is!
