Since Palmer was bought the app has become EVEN worse. Many PIDs that used to work now don’t and the only thing that has changed is the app. Things that once worked now require a costly add-on. Disgusting. I would really like my money back having suffered through this for years and now finding the new “developer” has decided to screw the people who paid for the original development - customers like me - leaves a very bad taste in the mouth. Firstly, the app is far too expensive given its severe limitations. It is worth at best about $25, because the inherent limitations on a mobile device are significant. Does it work? Yes. Does it work in real time? Not really. It attempts to but the update speed even with a WiFi interface is too slow, and I believe the sloth is due to the speed of the mobile device rather than the data transmission. As others have commented, the lack of PIDs on many cars is annoying, and Palmer should provide a database of what one can expect from various models. On the other hand they are clear that it may not work as expected, so caveat emptor. Some things are simply inexplicable: why can a track replay not overlay a map on the iPhone when it can on an iPad; why is it effectively impossible to export the data; why does the app crash so often; why is there no simple way to stop it seeking an OBDII connection when one is away from the car and interested in playback; why is there no fast forward, reverse or pause to playback; why is the support so poor. I've had better support with free apps! In short this is a decent effort, but it's really only half-finished...and $50 is too much for that.
I run this app on my 2007 f350 6.0, I like the data I can see and monitor right from my phone on the long runs. Great app and very useful.
This used to be my go-to app for OBD II diagnostics. But that was then, and this is now. It doesn't seem to do anything for 2016 and newer vehicles (at least not on mine). What gives? Why are so many 2016 and newer vehicles not even listed, let alone correctly identified by codes?
I like that I can use it on most cars. Domestic and imported.
Caution: You could be wasting your money like I did. It doesn’t work on all vehicles.
I have used this many times to diagnose issues and sometimes to simply reset the check engine light
This does everything it advertised as doing. Works good pretty accurate gauges and able to read codes would recommend
I ordered an elm device from amazon that came with instructions to download this app however this app fails to connect with the device. At first I thought the device was faulty but it successfully connected to forscan so that tells me it is a problem with the app. Very disappointing as I needed this for my Chevy and forscan will not work for Chevy. Waste of money and time.
I purchase this app. I found out later that you have too many to buy. Those things that you’re going to buy are available in another app for free. This app diagnostics is simple and available in other free app that you could find in App Store. Simply put waste of money. Other free app has BSM (blind spot monitor reset) this one nada (nothing).
Better than a basic budget scanner and fun to add to it Real time EMS display. Highly interactive with the DashCmd app paired to it. I’m impressed by the features but it’s a basic scanner tool for the price
