It is what it is
Crashes. Freezes. Eats chats. Can’t turn annoying taps off. Must be run by straight people.
With the full support of Apple iTunes, Grindr uses highly unethical means to prompt users of the free version of their app to accidentally purchase a subscription. Those caught by surprise have no means to void/flight the charge and instead are forced to accept the reality of a world in evict corporate interests favor other corporate interest while stripping consumers of any protection
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS APP!! App is cluttered with ads that’ll randomly pop up at the bottom of the screen. To see 50 additional profiles, you must watch a 30-sec ad from a low-quality app game you have no intention of ever downloading for free. But first you have to figure out how to make the ad play by interacting with the exit button. When you finally finish watching the ad, the app will crash. After the app is done rebooting, it’ll say you never watched the video to unload more profiles. It’s a self-perpetuating vicious cycle of losing a battle with ad after ad.
This App doesn’t let you show who is online now. You are limited to a small population of people close to you staying f you don’t pay the monthly fee and most of them aren’t online. Very hit or miss.
Grindr allows drug dealers and prostitution They do nothing to remove and block profile when reported. Also blocks never last, the profiles come back within a couple days so then you have stalkers. Poor app and support
I have been on and off Grindr for a few years. Every time, it takes only a few hours for my profile to get approved and then I’m ready to use the app. Recently, I found that someone had duplicated my profile and I have reported it several times over the last two weeks. Nothing has been done about this and the individual is still actively using the account. I don’t want to block the account because I want to know when it’s gone. It seems like the Grindr team cares more about getting people to use the app than actually keeping theirs users safe from stalking and impersonation.
Update: it’s still the same, but now it’s kind of funny. I’ve never taken the time to review an app, but having been using this one since its inception it seems apt to give my 2 cents: the inconsistencies, lax monitoring and outright biased moderation of profile images, profile content and underage members is outrageous. I’ve personally had it at this point, sick of half my messages not getting through and half messages sent to me showing up on notifications but when I open up the app... nada. On this particular day, though, I’m really, really, really incensed by the discriminatory, inconsistent and offensively undeniable practices relating to profile pictures. I’ve always experienced very, very strict vetting to the extent of images not violating any guidelines rejected; furthermore in the past few days it’s come to my attention that there seems to be an abundance of guys out there that get a free pass and are exempt of certain regulations... without going into detail, it’s very frustrating to submit the same image over and over cropping just a bit more even though there’s nothing to crop as per the guidelines... long story short picture rejected 6 times so far, and they do reserve the right to crop at their discretion yet no... This is bullsh*t. Anyway, I’ll be back to continue this tirade.
This app has its up’s and down’s.The users can be really nice to really rude and pathetic.
They have turned this app into garbage
