The changes to this site have caused me to cancel my subscription. For years, this was a reliable site to view, try and save recipes, make shopping lists, and share with friends and family. I resent having to sign in for every action and now that they’ve hanged basic functionality and removed my saved recipes from the site, it’s useless to me.
I love this app: a great resource for recipes of all kinds. The most recent updates seem to be rather unstable, with the app crashing frequently or closing unexpectedly, which makes a brilliant product unusable… come on app team, help us to get our favourite recipes back in a readable format. Also the sort / filter options on the newer versions are not as extensive as previous versions. I use this on the fly after work to find a recipe for our family dinner. The better sort / filter options are a time saver for a busy family hustling the kids around our work responsibilities!
Used this app for ages and now they want to charge for a subscription w/ no option to view recipes you’ve saved before.
They decide we should pay for the app and now it constantly crashes. What a piece of junk
Used this app for many years. I liked the basic straightforward recipes it had. Now it seems to be nothin but fancy frilly hard to make recipes AND they want you to pay for it. Deleted.
Such a shame. I have been a loyal user for many, MANY years, and I routinely and perhaps foolishly cough up money to subscribe to Apps and sites but I refuse to spend a single cent on Epicurious. The genius who thought of deleting people’s recipe boxes knows nothing about cooking and how recipes become a part of a family’s history. And don’t even try to tell me I had the opportunity to save my recipes because the App suddenly crashed every time I tried to print a recipe for safe keeping. The powers that be sadly failed to honor a group of consumers like myself with their total lack of respect for us and for the art of cooking. I will gladly spend hundreds of dollars on cookbooks and a subscription to NYT cooking. Epi-c fail…
Like several other reviewers have said, this had been my go-to recipe app, too. It was so user-friendly and really actually enjoyable when searching for new recipes. Now, accessing any recipes—including those I’d already saved and accessed many times in the past—requires a subscription. No thank you. This change in no way has been an improvement to the users; instead, it a real disappointment and slap in the face for our long-time loyalty. I did actually sign up for the free trial with this new subscription model, but just long enough to retrieve my saved favorites. The search function is now clumsy to use and if there is a way to print recipes, I couldn’t find it; I had to copy and paste the recipes, instead. I will be seeking out a new recipe app.
Was great when it was free
Very frustrating. I don’t use it as often as I’d like because either the app is hard to open or the recipes are. Such a shame.
Did anyone test this app at all? Ever? It’s been trash ever since they updated months ago and I’m astonished it’s still just as bad. Practically useless.
