I have two portfolios. The app recognizes both but will display the contents of only one. For the other, it suggests adding securities. It has 16. Displays correctly on desktop but fails on the app. Unsatisfactory for a paid service.
As of this week I cannot sign in. When it does sign in it won’t stay signed in. If it does sign in the delays to move around the site are 10-30 seconds. I am iOS up to date. On a 400MB solid internet connection. Not using a VPN.
I am extremely disappointed by the lack of response from Morningstar Support and the app UX. I paid for a subscription online and then downloaded the app on my phone, then proceeded to log in. The app kept saying to renew my membership (which was paid for already - I was able to use the web version just fine and used the same email account online and on the app). It never let me look up any securities or do my research on the app. I would say that your platform is great - with great features - however all the goodies are useless if I cannot access what I paid for… hence the one star rating.
Not a substitute for the computer version of the website. Data is wildly inaccurate during periods of volatility—most likely due to too many people refreshing the app. You guys need to implement systems that can handle 4 standard deviation traffic loads. As we know, markets don’t follow normal distribution curves, and neither do manic investors. This app will not be a tool used by serious investors or professionals until it can deliver data with fidelity (as in high fidelity).
This app will not provide you normal access to fund/stock info NOR info from your personal portfolio. Contact from customer support was gracious but only to inform the above functions weren’t available. A real disappointment
Limited functionality. Disappointing, especially since I am a premium member and pay for the service.
I visit this app frequently and appreciate the layout and information. The lack of real-time quotes and customization from the app are the only two negatives, but it is a free app which is appreciated.
I like the Morningstar data. On a web browser, the site is fine. But the mobile app apparently was never tested by humans. Each time I launch it, if I want to view my portfolios, I need to re-enter my credentials. It will pop up a “save” dialog window, but only for a few milliseconds. And, even if you manage to hit save, it’s just a tease. Nothing is saved. Data presentation also stinks on the mobile. The whole app looks like an afterthought, not a serious attempt to build value. I’m running the IOS version. Perhaps the Android release is functional. 2 months later… App really stinks. Had it six months. Now doesn’t allow me to access premium data subscription I paid for. Tried help-chat. No response. Would not recommend.
If you need to modify your portfolio in any way you can’t here. Web page is your option. Also if you have a premium membership this app will not recognize it. I signed in three times with my user name and password but could not access premium containers. The app kept asking me to sign up for premium.
Cant log in due to an “unexpected error”! Sad to see such a valuable resource have a weak app! Shame! Can’t use it on the go
