New update is bad
I just want it like it was. I DO NOT want Editors’ Picks on my home page! The formatting is different and has fewer options for customizing. Why would you make it worse??
avoid this app - thousands of bookmarks missing
so now out of thousands of bookmarks i have it won't load past maybe a hundred or so. i can't even search for my older bookmarks. also seems to bring up my tags in reverse alphabetical order which makes no sense. i used to love this app and paid for premium several times (did not continue bc premium messed up some features like searching). the widget is gone too now. switching to Matter or Raindrop bc this one looks nice but has become absolutely awful recently.
Great reader, but less features over time
I read articles consistently, and I’ve tried all the other reader software, this is the best app for reading/listening to articles. I am a premium subscriber, and am in the top 5% of readers within the Pocket service, but I’m getting disappointed in the service. Pocket has stripped out many features over time, and hasn’t replaced them with anything other than tepid redesigns of minor parts of the service. Two features I greatly miss are the page reading mode and custom fonts. I’m sure there’s more that Mozilla will strip out of Pocket, and if/when that happens I’ll have to explore an open source solution like Wallabag.
Just moved everything to Reader by Readwise
New update is a joke. It will take months to add back features they took away. No thanks. I am not going to be development guinea pig for an app that has been around forever and really should have known better. The integration from Pocket to Reader is seamless. Everything moved over in seconds. Too bad!
Terrible update
New version of pocket is now terrible, keeps crashing, settings are all lost, forces dark mode, etc. No longer the robust app that I paid for. I’ll be canceling my subscription immediately.
New update ruins great app
(Sort the reviews by most recent to see how this app actually works as of June 2023) For some reason they removed features with the new update — namely, the number of font and color options. Also, it’s suddenly extremely buggy and the interface is much more cluttered. The app was perfect and this new update makes it strictly worse. Need an alternative now. Bummer. I’m confused as to why they did this… Update: moving officially to Instapaper after using pocket for 10+ years. RIP :(
Latest version unusable
Freezes, filters don’t work, scrolling locks up- this app is entirely unusable

Update renders the app useless
I loved this app before the recent update. Now you can’t copy and paste links, and the articles aren’t saved offline. So you always need an internet connection to read anything, which makes it useless if you’re traveling.
Bring back audio articles
This has been my top recommended app for years. However the recent update has been very discouraging. I used to love listening to articles I saved on pocket, which I (key point here) didn’t have time to read but could listen to on the go. That is no longer possible with the latest update. Sure the app looks better, but articles will never look as good as they do on the original site, so that focus area strikes me as odd. The focus should be helping people find, save, and access stories. Audio is key to accessibility
