Overall a great app but here are two suggestions. I think will help. 1. Indicate when the last time someone logged in.( to help avoid talking to inactive accounts) 2. allow nonpremium members to read messages sent to them.
I wanted to like this app but all I have encountered are fake accounts that are being ran by scam artist or government and law enforcement agents trying to catch black men who are willing to engage in buying sex. Though there seems to be a few good things, but very few for the price. I’ll likely not use the site again. The buttons like the heart button reacts by turning white instead of red or some other reaction that would make it clear you liked a profile. This app is very basic in every way. I’m not really happy with it so far but we see how it goes. It might not be as bad of an app as it seems, but I’m not that optimistic at the moment about it.
If I could give minus stars, I would. The old app was much better than their new app. It’s a total waste of a lot of money. Very disappointed!!
Don’t bother with this app unless you want to pay. Can’t do anything unless you have to pay. What a waste of money and time.
The new layout is really confusing and cumbersome. The profile takes hours to complete correctly and match has to review each photo you upload, only to have them crop it to meet there standards. There are lots of profiles without pictures even though match reviews each photo, obviously fakes. There are much more singles using other apps, I signed up only to find one match in my area. If you don’t live in a big city you’re literally just throwing money away on this one. I requested a refund after about 4 days and was credited for two months. At least they helped me get something back.
This app is not worth the money!! Never get any responses!
You have to spend money just to have a conversation with someone you matched with. The most you can do without having to pay $60 for a 6 month membership is to like the people you want to match with. Other than that if you’d want to have a conversation with someone who made the choice to like you, you have to pay to get their attention.
Honestly i don’t want to be long winded in a complex review but why i do not feel it is worth the money for a paid subscription is this. Not enough paid members to choose from and have conversations with even if you broaden your mileage parameters and age gap. There are so many free members who cannot message back so you are better off taking your chances with free dating apps and saving yourself some money. As for effort i wrote a very detailed profile and put no preferences as to what i am looking for to keep an open mind and increase my chances of finding someone. Once my subscription runs out i will NOT renew
How is it possible for anyone and everyone to message you for a paid service?? And to change that it has to be an additional charge?! In 2 days I have over 90 messages this is such a bad user experience!!! I also went to the help section but the email preferences no longer exists in settings, and I am getting an email for every one of these messages- so my email is ruined as well. Can’t believe I signed up for 6 months of this and I’m only on day 2. If there’s a way to get a refund, I’d like one immediately.
This may be a long read, but take this lesson from me and don’t waste your hard earned money or time! I was on Match for 3 years, looking to possibly meet someone who had similar interests that I had, and was serious about getting into a relationship. Out of the 3 years, I made approximately 12 connections with users on the site. Yes, you read that correctly, 12 connections in the 3 years I was on the app. You may be thinking that’s not too terrible, but when you really look into it, that’s 1 connection a month, for 12 months and the other 24 months, basically were me checking the app to see, if someone was attempting to make contact with me and myself attempting to make contact with other users, to no avail. A majority of the profiles on the app are users, who either don’t pay a subscription and won’t be able to message you or are fake accounts. You’re better off saving your time and money. Talk to friends to see who’s single and go out to meet people. I’ve had better luck doing that, which resulted in me meeting the woman I am with now. If what I wrote above, hasn’t made you change your mind about downloading the app and paying for a subscription, I’ll leave you this last little piece of information that shows you the match site is a scam. I had my account set on auto renew however, before match could automatically renew my account and charge my credit card, I had an unauthorized charge on my credit card, which resulted in me cancelling the card account number and opening up a new account number. Once it came time for my auto renew to happen, Match was unable to charge my account and had sent me emails advising me of this. Match advised in their email to me, to update my account information. Without updating my account information to pay for a subscription, I’m not able to see who’s sending me interests, who’s viewed my account, or send messages to users. Well, seeing I didn’t have much success using the app, I decided not to update my account information. In the 2 weeks I had not responded to match to update my account information, I received emails from Match advising 11 users have interest in getting to know me. How is it possible in 2 weeks, I have 11 users having interest in getting to know me, when in the 3 years I paid for a subscription, I only made 12 connections with users wanting to get to know me? Makes no sense and clearly shows, it was match attempting to get me to renew my subscription. Take the lesson from me and make a good decision. If you still wish to get the app and pay for the subscription, I wish you the best of luck in your dating!
