I use Skype every Saturday to talk with my daughter out of state. I gotta tell ya I can’t remember the last time I had any issues with Skype. It does exactly what it is supposed to do. Nothing more, nothing less.
Great solid app. I have been using it for years to talk to my family and I love it!

My church has used Skype for virtual meetings for over a decade, and with the most recent update this problem has cropped up: we will initiate a group call. For those who don’t answer right away, normally then can just tap “Join Call” to come in. However, we have had users with iPhones, iPads, and one Samsung Android phone have report this new problem: they see the “Join Call” button, but it is a light green instead of the usual darker green color, and when they tap it, nothing happens! They are unable to join, and so they contact our host who then re-rings them, and they can answer and join. But this is not a sustainable solution! If the host is busy and misses their call or text, then they are unable to get into the call. Please check this problem out and fix ASAP! We are loyal and very thankful users of Skype, but this has caused some definite problems in the last couple weeks! Thank you!
There’s no way to call someone if all you know is there user name- like someone you just met on a social networking site but don’t really know yet. Skype was much better before Microsoft acquired it.
Our family is in a trip for the week atone of the Hocking Hills cabins where there is no cellular service or connections but they do have WiFi. We thought we’d be able to use WiFi calling but it didn’t work. The cabin also has an internet phone but was experiencing difficulties with connecting so we had NO phone. It wasn’t a huge deal but for safety reasons I prefer to have an emergency line to call out. I downloaded several apps that said we could make calls via WiFi and none worked. I also tried using my business line which we use a digital service provider for and it worked but only twice then kept failing. Our second day here while in my wife’s computer Skype popped up which I had forgotten about. And man was I glad it did because it worked AMAZINGLY! Outside of a lag in the call it was the ONLY things that worked which allowed us to contact the cabin staff regarding the phone and schedule some of the events we wanted to do with the kiddos. Truly appreciate having Skype!
Cannot easily remove call history In your call Calls Tab you have your entire Contact List viewable below Recent Calls for no reason and you cannot remove it. You also have an additional tab labeled Contacts with the full contact list again. Very redundant if you think about it. Please remove the Contact list from the Calls Tab. Your UI seems so cluttered and unfriendly. Its careless of you not to address these issues.
My conversation on Skype goes dead when I run another app while using Skype call.
