Seems what used to be a fantastic app is shuttered and abandoned.
Love this app! We use it for our search & rescue team but.. not all members have iPhones and that makes it quite a challenge. Would be great if you could put this out on the android platform.
I thought I was buying a gps mapping app like Google Maps. I have no use for an app that ONLY tells me my gps location.
I've used it to grade my soldiers on land nav courses, used it for rucking, used it just to navigate...this app provides versatility and accuracy in an easy to use interface. ——- Updated Review: The phone app is still great, but I wish that the Apple Watch app could do more than Lay/Long coordinates. I work solely with MGRS and it makes the watch app worthless to me.
I have used this app on several generations of iphone and it works well. Can import or export a gps track, store topo maps offline for use without service, and is inexpensive. Gps apps still run down the battery quickly, but use airport mode if no service. I always seem to get lower mileage than dedicated gps receivers. gps not too accurate in steep canyons, but otherwise works great. i have downloaded maps in europe and us. Have tried many other apps but always end up using MOTION-X. Use the HD version on ipad
I’ve enjoyed using it to follow downloaded tracks while riding off road. Easy to use, offline map downloads work great and tracking my ride with details is really cool. My only complaint is the screen resolution isn’t optimized for iPhone X. Please update the resolution options for the current hardware.
Would love to see offline map downloads move faster. I don’t quite understand why a 100-200mb download takes such a looooong time to complete and you can’t do anything else on your phone while it’s downloading. If I tell google maps to download an offline map, it takes seconds. It’s a huge deal breaker for me and it always makes me look for alternatives or I just end up using google maps which I hate.
I loved this app and I still really like it but no updates in a year? That is disappointing. Now I’m trying to share a recorded track and it keeps failing. The FB upload or the email. Highly disappointed. I find it hard to believe that there isn’t anything that needs to be updated in an entire year.
Thanks🙏☀️🌈🏃 Great app. I use it to track and save my hikes. One cool thing about this app is your can tap the button to center your location and tap it again so it orients the map correctly when you walk just like if your driving a car. I think this is one of the best. You can also download the maps before you go so if you have no cell reception or don't want to use your cellular data you don't have to use that as you can cache (save/download) the maps before hand. I recommend using the motion X terrain map if you're going hiking
When first downloaded worked well a couple of years ago. Now in Colorado and Everglades backcountry rarely works—did their satellites crash??
