This apps a joke can’t even create an account
I downloaded the free trial of Map My Run while I was traveling in a foreign city so I could use the route genius. Map My Run generated a route for me, and I put my phone in my armband. Two problems ensued: 1. On Apple Watch, I had no way to control the app. Meaning that I had to remove my phone from my armband to use the app. 2. The route genius didn’t provide audio instructions. This is useless to me - who runs long distances with their phone in their hand? Subpar experience. Certainly not paying for this app.
Was worried because of app reviews, but I’ve had no issues. Bought a pair of HOVR Phantom SE and used this app with my Apple Watch. Took a long time to sync but all the stats from the shoes and watch were combined and available in this app and in the activity app. I started and ended the workout with the Apple Watch MapMyRun app. The Apple Watch workout app that is built in and the mapmyrun app measured about the same distance and calories. Seems like this app measures more heart rate data when looking at all the stats.
I used to love this app. But a couple of months ago, the app started saying my mile was about 200-250 yards further than it had been for all the years I’ve been using the app. I checked my route on Google Maps, and this app used to fairly closely match that. It also is completely inconsistent with where it tells me I’ve hit a mile (used to call it off in roughly the same location). What happened?!
Just finished a timed military fitness test. My average run time was 6:20 per mile. The app said my average was 5:55 per mile. That’s pretty significantly optimistic. Also, despite specifically de-selecting “shuffle” in the music section, the album I had selected played in shuffle mode. Not reliable. Nice for logging, and reasonable for long runs, but the GPS accuracy for distances of 3 or fewer miles is pretty far off, especially at higher speeds.
This app used to be rock solid. Only last several runs, however, my HOVR Infinite shoes have had difficulty connecting to my Apple Watch and - mid run - the pace time starts to become grossly inaccurate! As my pace quickens, it’s telling me I’m moving slower. Then it starts updating me in my Powerbeats Pro about every 30-seconds to a minute instead of every 0.25 miles, as set. I’ve rebooted my watch. I’ve restarted the app numerous times. I’ve even started a simultaneous Apple Watch run workout while MapMyRun is tracking and - strangely - that seemed to have helped. Whatever is going on, there is a serious bug in the app since last update for this Apple Watch user. Please fix as I can no longer depend on this app!
I like being able to run w/o my phone. One thing I would like to see is a way to find the; mean, median, mode of my stats rather than just Average (mean). I have to mentally sort my data to take into consideration my walk breaks or changes in terrain. I am just getting used to this app and I like gizmos! This promises to get me more involved! Thanks team!
Hasn’t synced for like two weeks. Use to have no problems like other users said and since update it’s now not working
Love the app when it works. Now it freezes and then crashes so I never know an accurate time or distance.
Very frustrating, and one more issue to add to the ongoing list. Will only update by launching the watch’s Heart Rate app, but then seems to freeze again.
