Overtone Singing – also known as Throat Singing – is a type of singing in which the singer manipulates the resonances created in the vocal tract in order to produce a melody. From a base pitch created by the human voice the related harmonic overtones can be selectively amplified by changing the shape of the resonant cavities in the sinuses, forehead and mouth. This resonant tuning allows singers to create two tones at the same time. By the way - have fun with this unusual singing technique Step 1 The training of the diaphragm is very important for powerful overtones. You learn not to press with the neck muscle when creating a tone. (4 exercises) Step 2 The main exercise is the resonance space training. Only when you can hear the differences between the resonance spaces start with the tongue exercise. Vocal Training (12 exercises) Back resonance space (6 exercises) Front resonance space (4 exercises) Nasal voice for very high overtones (4 +2 exercises) Sing Mantra – good for the soul (3 exercises) Step 3 Tongue position.
