Description

Weather Strip’s groundbreaking week-long hourly view shows you the whole forecast at a glance, so you can more quickly choose the best times to go outside. Beautiful home screen and lock screen widgets show the most detailed forecasts ever displayed in such a small space. Use the interactive map to see forecasts for any location in the world — including mountains, trails, lakes, and literally anywhere you place a marker. Extreme weather warnings are shown directly on the forecast timeline, so you can see exactly when the danger is expected — including storms, fires, hurricanes, flooding, landslides, and everything else tracked by NOAA meteorologists. We take privacy seriously with NO ads, NO tracking, and NO third-party analytics. Weather Strip only stores location data on your local device, and it always uses approximate locations when requesting weather forecasts. Weather Strip also respects your data plan, with optional background app refresh that automatically learns your habits, and the ability to view your recent forecasts even when your connection drops. Weather Strip is completely free to try for two weeks. After that, a minimal subscription price helps us keep the service running. (Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase.) Not all features are available in all locations. Forecasts are issued by Foreca globally and by the U.S. National Weather Service (NOAA NWS) in the United States. Forecasts usually span 168 hours (7 days) but can occasionally be longer or shorter. Designed by data visualization researcher Robin Stewart to help everyone enjoy the outdoors.

Fantastic

I never Write Reviews but this app is supreme. From interface to explanations. I love it so much. Thanks you for creating such a useful app.

My favorite weather visualization

5
At a glance, I can get a sense for what the day will be like: sun, clouds, rain, cold, heat, wind, and more. The Foreca forecasts (paid) have also been very good in my experience.

Only app with cloud cover info

5
I love this app. I’m a visual person so seeing everything laid out visually is perfect for me. Living in the Pacific Northwest I also really appreciate knowing exactly how much cloud cover or sun there will be on a given day at various times throughout the day. I can actually plan my day around when there will be sunshine!

So good, so contemporary

Building on generations of best apps, this is the undisputed best app in 2023. Get it and also subscribe because the widgets are superlative.

Clever, information-dense UI

This is such a clever way to display weather data -- everything you need, all in one place, without tapping around. Some people are probably naturally more inclined to respond to this sort of visualization than others, but for me it's genius.

The best, as long as you only need a forecast

4
Compared to other weather apps, this one shows you so little. It's pared down to just about the absolute minimum a weather app could be. And yet it shows you everything you need to see. The temperature, cloudiness, precipitation, and wind for the next several hours (scrollable) and for the week. There is no need to interpret or drill down into the app’s UI; data is shown so clearly that from the moment you open the app, there's almost no need to scroll, tap, zoom, or do anything else to get at the weather data you want. The minimalist design lets the data shine through to the maximum extent possible, and it's beautiful. There is, however, one thing it doesn't show, and that's the current conditions. You get temperature, wind, and humidity, but not whether it's currently precipitating, what kind of precipitation, and how much. I feel like it's pretty important to know what's going on right now (not even for the next hour -- just literally right now) but Weather Strip only provides the forecast, which is not quite as good. That said I still love this app and plan to make it my primary weather app; it's just a shame it can't be my *only* weather app.

Best Overall Weather App for IOS!

5
OK, let me say up front that I was a die hard Dark Sky user right up until the end. I remain a fan and daily user of the Dark Sky enhanced Apple Weather app too. I’m even amused by Carrot Weather. Weather Strip, however, has become my go to daily driver for weather related life planning. The ability to take in the upcoming 7 day forecast at a glance and see the actual profiles of temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, and more evolve over time is elegant, intuitive, and viscerally informative. Well worth the modest subscription cost and a great asset in your weather awareness arsenal. Highly recommended.

Weatherstrip is the best!

Really a useful app. Simple and lightweight and zero personal data tracking. Well worth it for Premium. This is the weather app you want to support.
