Widgetsmith lets you personalize your home screen and lock screen like never before. It starts with a wide collection of highly customizable widgets, which range in function from photos, to date, to weather, to astronomy. Each can be adjusted precisely to best fit your desired function and appearance. This set of widgets can then be dynamically scheduled to appear on your home screen following rules you define. For example, a particular widget could show the weather first thing in the morning, then your calendar during your work day, then switch to your Activity ring progress as you wrap up your day. This lets you take full advantage of each slot on your home screen. Activity widgets require a paired Apple Watch The app itself also includes a wide collection of tools, such as a weather app, a timezone converter, a calendar. These tools can automatically launch based on the active widget tapped. Notes: • Widgetsmith optionally integrates with Apple Health. This data is used to display your step and activity if you select one of those widget types. Permission for Widgetsmith to access this data is controlled through the Apple Health app. • Widgetsmith includes an optional premium subscription. This is offered on a monthly or annual basis. If you choose to purchase a subscription your payment will be charged to your iTunes account. Subscriptions will automatically renew unless canceled within 24-hours before the end of the current period. You can turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Account Settings on the App Store after purchase. • Access to Tide and Weather hosted data is only available to Widgetsmith Premium subscribers. I had to come back and update my review. I thought this app was forcing ads/Siri suggestions, but it was Siri itself. It never did that before, but it was showing in my widget and it was annoying. I turned Siri suggestions off and I believe that worked. With that said, I hope we can use the transparent background for the calendars. I like the design of the black one but with a transparent background.
I’ve been using Widgetsmith for years now, and although some of what I use it for is now also built-in, I still can’t imagine not having it. I think it’s an essential app for the extra customization that a lot of people want but probably don’t know can be done 😊 Only complaint would be the subscription, I actually think it’s totally worth the cost, but personally I don’t like subscriptions for something that’s essentially just on my phone (as opposed to an ongoing service that has more obvious maintenance costs). I do understand development takes effort and so even though it’s just on my devices it is still a sort of service, but I’d much prefer a one-time purchase instead of an ongoing subscription, even if it’s equivalent to 2 or 3 years of the regular subscription price.
The ability to change the photo collection slideshow speed, since currently, I might be able to see a different picture every different instance that I open my phone. It would be nice to h e it change pretty fast in front of you, like every 5-10 seconds Great work so far!
I tried to make a new widget to tap between photos and all it does is open the app. I’ve wasted 15 minutes trying. I’m now deleting my subscription. This is not the first time something hasn’t worked. NO SUPPORT OPTION IN APP TOO!!!
I love it
Just updated the iPhones software two days ago. Today out of nowhere my widgets have a black background/border around them. That I can’t get rid of. Anyone knows how to fix this?? Any actual resolutions would be grately appreciated
This app is overall very nice. I’ve used alot of Widget apps but, so far, this app is the best, all the other ones need money, but its free (well some). I LOVE this app so much.
you can’t add it to other apps( at least i couldn’t figure out how to).
This was a nice, simple app that provides an easy way to customize your screens. I have dozens of widgets I’ve created over the years. However, on the latest update, my widgets all show up as black - every. single. one of them. It’s extremely disappointing and the Help screen in the app didn’t address this issue (it only tells you how to configure a widget and mine all show up fine inside the app), so it looks like it’s on the developer’s end. Hopefully this is easily fixable…
i dont have any complaints! nice ideas i would like to be added: 1. being able to make a gif/video widget 2. customizing more like being able to make a filter
