I am not someone who gets subscriptions to apps. I will not pay for something unless it’s like, Spotify. But I am obsessed with Sword and Scale. There is something special about Mike Boudet and his storytelling. His advocacy for the victims. His empathy. The work he puts in to every single episode is INSANE. I am so dreading the day I get caught up on everything: all the episodes and PLUS episodes. Just not ready for that day. And I also never leave reviews in the App Store! But this podcast. It’s truly the best. Highly recommend. Love forever.

In the vast land of true crime podcasts, it takes something truly special to stand out. Sword and Scale is an oasis in a desert of mundane and unprofessional examples. There are only a few that I really enjoy, and this one is at the top of my very short list. Mike Budeau (I’m sure I’ve misspelled his name), our friendly neighborhood narrator, has something I can’t quite put my finger on. And to be honest, I probably shouldn’t finger him anyway. But he’s smooth like buttah, despite the occasional forays into personal politics. But I don’t mind; it’s his show. He can do what he wants. I’m just here for the excellent podcast. Good writing. Flawless editing. Endless variety of opening and closing music. Yes, please. It may sound like a put down, but the surest way for me to shut down my head and fall asleep, is to start a familiar episode, then play solitaire until I can’t keep my eyes open. Trust me, this is no put down. I give thanks every time I get the alert that a new episode has posted. I’m a plus member, which is really the way to go. I had some confusion over my account, as when my card was charged for my monthly payment, I was overdrawn. I emailed them and they got back to me quickly, helping me to figure out what had happened. Great customer support! A five Michelin tire rated podcast, to be sure ✌️

only podcast i’ve ever listened to. not kidding. i patiently wait for new episodes on plus, regular feed, and nightmares. i’ve listened to every episode. once finished i just start them over. listened to every episode a couple times now. i’ve tried other podcasts but jus can’t get into them. LOVE mike boudet.

I love S&S and was excited to find out there is an app. I love this podcast so much. The only complaint I have is that you can mark an episode as played and hide it from view. I know that sounds like a stupid problem. But I don’t listen in order lol I jump around. And only having the view of unplayed one helps my ocd brain. Other than that though it’s amazing.

This has been and always will be my favorite true crime podcast. I was introduced to sword and scale with the greyhound bus episode and I’ve been hooked ever since. Mike Boudet has a way with story telling that I have yet to find anyone else that does it like him. Don’t ever change Mike!!
