I like it but it was executed wrong

Look, I loved manga rock. And what you’re doing now is pretty good. I understand the whole supporting the creators thing, it’s a good cause, scanlations do hurt the community. But this isn’t the way to do it properly. When you put things behind a paywall (like reading something that you enjoy) it ruins it. Most people are just gonna go back to scanlations, and you wouldn’t have done anything. Instead, you need to give us ads, like the scanlation sites. People use them because they are free. Your service is not free. With ads, you ensure everyone is contributing (everyone sees the ads) and the more people read the more money is made, instead of a set amount per month. It also ensures if you do it right that successful creators get more money, because more people are seeing the ads on their content. It allows more opportunity and makes it less likely that people will go back to scanlations, which give us ads anyway but don’t support the creators. If you just give us ads but say that you actually support the creators, I think people are likely to stay or even transition over. And maybe give an option to pay for no ads monthly for like 3$ or less. I and many more simply don’t have extra money. We make very little, and use manga to Escape. We can’t read it though on INKR, it’s behind a paywall. That’s what I think. In summary, the idea and intention is good, but like many times In the past, it just wasn’t executed correctly, and that’s very unfortunate. I hope you can use my suggestion.

Its not the same

I was an OG manga rock user, and one of my favourite mangas is Gantz which i read on manga rock, unfortunately i did not find it in the new version nor chainsaw man, i hope they come back at some point

Option to separate mangas by country

I'd like to see a option to separate manga by country so i can skip all the Chinese sh** they make. Not a huge fan of them would like to stick to better stories with actual plot and not just boasting x100. Thanks!

You are better off reading on mobile sites

Per the title, you are better off reading using some site in safari than using this app. Manga selection is limited and there is a paywall to continue reading certain chapters/mangas. That is ridiculous compared to what the old MangaRock app offered and had. Sure this new app is sleeker in design and runs better (no crashing, stuttering, etc) but you can tell the developers behind the app also became more greedy with them locking features/mangas behind subscriptions. If you have trouble finding a manga site to read on Safari, check /r/manga on reddit.

I like this app but I have been trying to find an app wear I could read yona of the dawn so I don’t have to bring them when I go anywhere. I really like yona of the dawn and naruto and I think they should be one this app.

Subscription is fine... coin based micro transactions are not

Certain mangas lock their chapters behind another paywall even if you are a subscriber. It’s a crappy experience to have to pay again after being a subscriber. It’s like you subscribed just for the option to buy chapters. It’s really dumb. I already submitted feedback hopefully INKR will change this model because I won’t support such poor user experience. Either increase the monthly price to properly compensate the manga artists/publishers or let us buy manga volumes individually WITHOUT a subscription.

I carried over my account from mangarock and none of my manga carried over and the ones I’ve found on inkr I can’t read past chapter 4 or I need a subscription

Poor selection with no option to remove low-quality Chinese “manga”

There are way too many Chinese-based “manga” which are all of very low quality compared to Japanese or Korean ones. Would appreciate an option to filter out all Chinese “manga”.

So excited that the transition from testing has gotten to this exciting moment!!!

Not perfect, but it’s getting better.

I really like that the developers are trying to make a platform that supports the people who actually create the Manga/comics and also the translation teams. The content is a bit limited at the moment but there’s new arrivals all the time. App is fairly easy to navigate although, I’d like to see more ways to search for certain genres and maybe a way to request if the INKR devs could get new titles to be added to the app. Biggest problems that I can see that need to be overcome are getting more titles into the app and quicker updates on new chapters. One of the manga I was reading hasn’t seen a new chapter in about a month, which wouldn’t be a problem if this was free but I’m paying a subscription and an in-app currency.
