Great Shows, bad app
I love the shows that Wondery produces. I have binged so many. However, the design of the app has one flaw that makes it very irritating to use. Every time I finish an episode I have to back and select the next one. Auto play does kick in but it always plays an episode I have already listened to. If this were fixed it make my bi he style of listening much easier and more enjoyable.
Great Content, Abysmal App
I love the content but the app is borderline malware, it bricks my iPhone 12 and forces me to hard reset my device. There are no signs of improvement and updates are way too infrequent.
App is way too buggy
The ads for Wondery have me hooked— I want to purchase the Plus version because the content here sounds great. Unfortunately I’ve tried twice now to upgrade and honestly, nothing works. I get blank screens. Zero instructions on how to use, switch, or listen to anything. The standard reply is to make sure everything is the most recent version blah blah and I’m just done with it. I think it could be a great gig if only someone had put a little more thought into its design and userability.
Amazing concept
A bit glitchy upon opening the app, but i still subscribed to the + I really hope these glitches get fixed because it really is a good app. I would still suggest trying it out, very easy to browse as well.
App does not work
As I subscribed, I even did but I would pay it off in a year the app would just stop working. I did everything that I was told to do a deleted it put it back on. I shut my phone off turn it back on and I’ve been listening to the story and it just stops working. I have an audio app and I never experienced that issue so I said I’ll give it to mom or try and I said forget it and I canceled the year thing it’s just ridiculous that every time you’re around I’ll see you be listening to stop for no reason that needs to be fixed or you’re gonna lose a lot of people, or even knew people. The show I was listen too is over my dead body
Wondery On The Decline?
Podcasts/shows used to be better. App has always been difficult to navigate/use unlike Spotify.
Poor Interface & App Development
I love some of the shows on this platform but my lower rating lies solely on the poor app development. It’s clunky and slow. It’s a pain to try and get it to work if you’re offline, even when you’ve downloaded the episodes. I even have Wondery+ and this app is still pretty crappy. It also will kick you out and make you log in again fairly often. Even if you had it open listening to it in the morning, by the afternoon it will make you sign in again which is annoying. I don’t even have it on another device so it’s not like it’s because I was using it somewhere else, it just logs me out. Also I don’t share my account with anyone so again it doesn’t log me out related to any glitches with that. I like the shows but this is probably my least favorite interface to listen on. If I could get the exclusive content elsewhere I probably would just because I hate fighting with this app. Also, this app drains my battery fastest compared to other platforms…

App keeps freezing, had to turn the phone off reboot to get it to work
Awful
Great shows, but the app is absolutely awful. If it’s not constantly crashing, then it’s constantly stopping the podcast. Even if you’re downloading to your phone, the app is unable to play the content without interruptions. The only reason I gave two stars was because of the great Wondery podcasts. I’m a paid subscriber but I may have to cancel my subscription next year and put up with ads just to use a different app.
Run slow
I joined after Stitcher shut down and heard great things about it. There isn’t as many shows on here as I expected, but joined anyways for the few I listen to. I was surprised how slow the app takes to load. I have a current updates and a new iPhone mini. So it can’t be an old phone thing. Redownload just to see, and still long so load the app, longer for the episodes.
