See the record-shattering series about Jesus that has a 9.9 on IMDb. MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR I’ve been a believer my whole life, I’ve attended Christian schools my whole life, and I’ve heard the stories of Jesus countless times. I’ve also seen every Jesus movie and miniseries ever made, and there have been dozens. So why a new TV show about Jesus? Because I have a passion for people to hear the “old, old story” again … for the very first time. When I see Jesus movies, it’s sometimes hard for me to feel moved or excited. I've heard the stories before, and many Jesus projects just take you from Bible story to Bible story, not spending as much time on the humanity and backstories of all these characters. And they sometimes feel stiff and formal. So when we started to write a show that explores Jesus through the eyes of those around Him, we were repeatedly moved and excited. We explored the backstories of Simon Peter, Matthew, Mary Magdalene, Nicodemus, and a few of Jesus’ miracle recipients, and in turn experienced Him in the way they did. We couldn’t help but identify with their recklessness, rough pasts, religious piety, and desperation for life change. And ultimately, their redemption. One of our favorite responses from an early screening? "The story of Jesus that actually appealed to my teenagers!" No matter where you’re at in your journey with Christ—whether you’re one of the many people in the gospels who encountered Jesus after a horrific past without Him, or you’re a Nicodemus who’s been a lifelong member of the God team—Jesus proved over and over that we have so much to learn and innumerable traits that need change. We hope this show allows you to see Jesus as they did. The end of the trailer tells you how to watch this show right now.
We have been watching The Chosen since the app was debuted and have watched episodes many times over. Whenever we try to tell someone how powerful these portrayals of Christ’s life are, they just can’t grasp the power that truly comes from this production. We always end with, “You just have to download the app and watch the whole season.” I even love the message that the opening credits animation portrays, it’s subtle, yet profound.
One of the best faith- based films out there! Unlike other streaming apps/shows - you don’t have to get bogged down of paying a subscription (‘Pay it Forward’ initiative), sit through any advertisements, or undergo a lengthy process to create an account. Wholeheartedly recommend to all friends n family!
So emotional and moving and brought me to tears many times while watching it. I feel like it brings me closer to Jesus every time I watch.
Thank you. This is something the world needs. God bless you.
I don’t have tv but when I saw an advertisement about The Chosen, I knew this was something I wanted to watch. I’m glad that it comes in app form. The first episode was so good but some parts I was confused about. The second episode answered my questions and by the third episode I was completely hooked. I love being able to see the Bible story portrayed through the eyes of everyday people. I have never seen a perspective like this before and more than that, the Lord has been revealing truths to me so much through the show itself. Now when I read my Bible, I feel like I can put a face to the people I’m reading about and understand parts that may have been unintentionally overlooked before. Needless to say, The Chosen is absolutely AMAZING, I refer it to all my friends and I can’t wait to watch the rest of this season when it comes out!
Every time my device “goes to sleep”, the video pauses. So I can’t watch it on our Apple TV from my iPad or iPhone.
Gives a different perspective of what may have taken place during the time of Jesus and the 12 disciples.
I am impressed with the quality of this work. I am convinced it is and will be monumental to call other “chosen ones” and edify the body of Christ. He is coming soon! get to know him and seek sanctification while there is still time.
Words cannot describe the experience. The message is as current now as it was then. ...for us all.
Really great graphics, I believe Season 2 will be great as well. Also I think in the future in Season 7 I think the last episode can be when Jesus goes to heaven anyway God bless the creators and the actors of this show.
