Very complicated to use and caused lots of IT issues. My main reason to be interested in this application was to filter YouTube content and foster the use of YouTube Kids instead. The app did not recognize You Tube Kids separately from YouTube and ended up disabling the Kids version. Daughter came to me every 10 minutes because she was trying to use YouTube Kids and couldn’t. Basically brought us more problems than it solved. In the process I realized that her iPad is connected to my iPhone and the Apple operating system itself provided for content filters and timers so we didn’t need this app.
As a parent who only wants the best for her kids this is definitely not the best option. To start with it is just a way to show kids that you don’t trust them so you have to put a lock on their phone, my wife and I have seen the effects it has on the and it is not pretty. Another thing that circle does is give a time limit option which seems good until your kids ask you why you can’t just telling them to get of their phone. So personally I wood not suggest this app.
The app is basically hacking into any device and you can control how it can use its screen time all it does is make ur kids angrier and act up more.
i am a 15 yr old, but this app is retarded. say you have a 2 hr time limit, and you’re on the app for abt 20 minutes, itll sometimes say you used all of it. the app is useless and is easy to disable on xbox and stuff. j dont get it it is a waste. put normal time limits on your phone and not this piece of garbage.
This app has ruined my device, it won’t work unless I restart it or I reopen the app for the millionth time. I think that all these internet problems are coming from this app.
I am a child who's parents have used Circle for a while. And just for all the parents out there, it only limits internet time, so if your child has offline games, then yep. No control. Anyhow, this app works well. Time limits, bedtimes... it has it all. Anything you might need as a parent. As a naturally curious homosapien, I wonder how this app was coded. It's pretty much seamless. I assume it has something to do with disrupting connection to a router and non-router internet such as cellular. I think this because texting works by making a direct connection between two devices, without the router or 5G or cellular. Just a link. And that link is made when the first message in a small conversation (for example: honey did you get cookies? And then a response of yes) is sent, linking the devices for a period of time, until people stop texting each other. And how this connects to evading Circle is that it doesn't touch a router except for the first text. Existing text chains won't be cut off by Circle because the link is already made. Anyway, I know that's not what you expected from this review. You expected reviewing, naturally, and a bad review, since this is a child writing, not a speculation into the intricate complexities of computer science. But developers, if you could tell me how your app monitors screen time, that would be great. Thank you for wasting your time reading this, and I hope you learned something. PS. The missing star is because I don't really like being monitored. There isn't anything wrong with the app. Even the children's version shows the screentime left, how much time until bedtime, wether or not you've been paused, and other things like that. I kust don't like being monitored and blocked, except for not seeing inappropriate and adult stuff like pornography and pedophilia. Thanks for blocking those. PPS. Sorry for the huge review.
My mom just locks my phone whenever she pleases. And i won’t even do anything wrong
So this app’s limits all I do. At first I didn’t like it but it’s good for my health.
Terrible quality, doesn’t work. Really stupid because I paid and everything. My kids should be free to use their screens as they like, and I as a screen user use them twice as much as my kids.! ANYWAYS, give your kids some freedom once in a while.👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Not especially easy to identify devices in setup. Tonight it took almost 20 minutes for a pause on a device to go into effect, and 10 minute delay in getting the device unpaused. You will see server websites in activity that you will have no clue what your kid was accessing on. Still think it was worth the investment, just losing faith it is doing what I need it to.
