So, this app screams potential. I used this app to travel to a local campground about 45 minutes away. The app recognized a turn that would be challenging for an rv and added steps to turn me around and approach from a more desirable angle. Unfortunately, the roads it wanted me to use didn’t exist anymore. The maps are so far out of date. By the time I gave up it had taken me down two permanent dead ends. It doesn’t support CarPlay. This is 2023. Folks pulling trailers have big screens and not a lot of convenient mount space for their phone to be visible. It doesn’t allow for multiple stops. This isn’t huge when the trip is planned. But planning, I go back to my normal gps. Now for the good. The membership spans several apps. I find that to be very convenient and a compelling selling point. But this GPS app is just not that good.
Bought the membership for RV routing and made the mistake in assuming a driving navigation app would support CarPlay. Really disappointed to find that it does not. I now see developer responses saying it’s been on the radar for over a year, so I wouldn’t hold your breath about it actually coming. I see that you responded that CarPlay is on your radar. As I mentioned in my review you have been responding to comments about CarPlay support being missing from the app saying it’s on your radar for years, so that is pretty meaningless right now. Sounds like your are literally saying your are aware of CarPlay and not that you are or plan to actually do snitching about supporting it. I will not be renewing my account if it’s not supported when I come up for renewal.
Missing CarPlay interface! That in itself would make it better then “OK”. A few of the other things I feel are missing are the ability for this app and road trippers, which are the same subscription for me, to to talk to each other to just load my planned trip. Lacking that, the ability to program multiple stops on your days trip. Actual routing I do find better then the next RV safe GPS app. Also better lane guidance and graphics would be nice.
I can find no place in the app description that explains the subscription price. I downloaded the app, and a week later got a notice that the one week trial was over and I got charged $30. I don’t know if that charge is for a month, a year, or what. This should be made obvious when someone loads the app.
Forgot to cancel the free trial now stuck with it for a year. It’s ok, but should (and needs to) work with CarPlay. That’s the only issue I have with it.
Can’t give this a much needed 4.5 with having car play. I might compare a route with apple or google maps. But won’t run this as my GPS when driving.
Update:: no CarPlay is a deal breaker. Pretty cool app — was given a year free from Thor. But since app gps doesn’t support CarPlay may not renew.
They will automatically bill you for another year without any warning. Very shady operation here.
This is like a late 90’s gps but worse. I requested and refund almost immediately. Here are a few of the issues I found while using it. 1. No CarPlay 2. No landscape mode 3. Several times it can’t find address (even when clicking on the suggested one) 4. Stupid routing. (I put my 40’ rv specs in and my trailer specs in and it STILL routed me to low bridges, super sharp turns, no truck roads etc. 5. The maps are super low resolution 6. Can’t control voice guidance There are several RV GPS options on the App Store that are way better than this for way less money.
Even if this app was free, don’t be misled! Repeatedly, I requested a route from Jackson Hole, Grand Tetons to the south entrance to Yellowstone. Repeatedly this worthless RV GPS stated no route exists. THESE TWO DESTINATIONS ARE AMONG THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER RV DESTINATIONS IN THE USA! We took Hwy 191 via Moran to the south entrance of Yellowstone. Not only did our 35 ft 5th Wheel easily do this, but every size motor home imaginable did the same. When I explained this to GOTO RV, to make corrections, they didn’t do squat! I no longer even consult them for routes. Try WAZE; it’s amazing and free. Google maps is also available.
