I love working out, I need to work out. My problem? I can’t make myself do it unless I’ve made a commitment and the class is going to start at a set time with or without me. On-demand workouts, no matter how great they are, are just one more snack for my procrastination monster. I needed an app with lots of LIVE workouts. Openfit is the only quality exercise app I have found with live classes available at nearly anytime. I must workout at 5 am and the other apps with some live workouts only have a handful of live classes a week and usually never before 7 am. Openfit has live classes from 5am -11pm eastern. If you need to make a time commitment to hold yourself to, Openfit’s live classes MAKE IT SO MUCH EASIER. I want all people with ADHD and those who struggle with putting virtual workouts off to know that this is a great platform that offers an array of live workouts that can really help make workouts ACTUALLY happen in your life, not just lots of thinking about and choosing ideal workouts. We need exercise, it’s hard/impossible/not safe to make it to classes these days. You do not have to add that on-demand class to your to-do list. just sign up for an Openfit class at the best time for you and don’t burden yourself with the initiative, overwhelming choice (bc which app do you choose, which workout style, which muscle group, which level, etc) and perfectionism bait (bc you can pause and rewind on-demand to get your form and alignment better) that is the internet’s near infinite selection of on-demand workouts. Openfit is the only app that makes the mental labor of exercise as easy as committing to a time and showing up. *********** Openfit also has hundreds of in-demand workouts, they look great, but I haven’t tried them. Like I said, I can’t start a workout unless I know it’s going to start without me.
I downloaded this to see what Extend Barre was all about and I really enjoyed my experience! I tried to get the full experience and try other parts of the app. The other programs offered are great! However, I was not super impressed with the live classes that occurred because the structure of how it was executed was not at all what I thought it would be. Openfit should look into having the instructors actually do the workouts rather than just insert clips of said exercises. The live workouts also severely lacked the live portion in my opinion, it felt less personal and more generated. I had also seen a comment on how the trainers are not nationally credited instructors which definitely needs to be changed. I work in a gym so I am surrounded by fitness all day as well as workout nearly every day. It will bring about a better scope of practice and participants will trust the instructors more as well as see more progress without being blind.
Nice idea, horrendous execution. You can’t try it out without plunking down $40 first which is a major no-no, and you don’t get assigned one of the trainers for guidance, which means if you’re not willing to kick your schedule hither and yon to get a trainer you gel with, you’ll be stuck in no time. Even worse is that most of the trainers for the on-demand workouts lack respected national certifications, which is a major no-no because any good fitness expert will tell you that you should only work out with certified trainers. This app needs major improvements before it will even show up on my radar, never mind be relevant.

After a couple of bad experiences with other workout apps, I decided to give Openfit a try. Without a doubt, this was the best decision I've made in a while. The programs are awesome, the live classes are great, the trainers are amazing and diverse, and the community is the most supportive community that I've ever seen.
Open Fit is awesome for so many reasons but what I think I like best is there’s no excuse -I can work out during the day or during the night ,I can do live training I can do recorded training , Pilates yoga running walking meditating! it’s positive ,it’s motivating, it is saving me from many of these downtrodden Covid days yay Open Fit!-!!!
I love that I can do thirty minutes at any time day or night that I can fit it in. Motivating. I like seeing how she corrects the other participates and announces ways to improve your work out.
So I literally just started this program on Saturday. I have been athletic in the past in my life, and am sort of “skinny fat,” now due to a couple injuries that took me out of the game, AND I was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and have been deconditioning and living with pain, plus working FT and raising my 4 kids. Since starting it Saturday, I have already noticed a HUGE difference! (It’s Wednesday). I tend to build muscle quickly but this is amazing. Several people have already been commenting, asking what’s different. I can feel new muscles in my glutes, my quads, my hamstrings, I have arm definition, and even my ABS are getting defined after 4 babies. I am forcing my husband to download the app, because there’s literally something for everyone! I feel motivated, and being able to do a different video every day, or more than one, plus getting to choose the time, helps to make sure I go back to it every time. The notifications aren’t even annoying, and I can set when they send them! Lol I’ve done the X-Tend Barre almost every day (it’s HARD, but an amazing workout and you can always modify), then I’ve added some Pilates and recovery yoga in there. Best app I’ve ever tried for guided exercise! And the Barre instructor is amazing. Super motivating and has tons of incredible little tips the whole time to make sure you’re doing everything correctly. 5/5! (No I was not paid for this, I’m just super happy, lol).
Many varieties of workouts are available both on live classes and videos. Scheduling on live class helps me getting in the healthy life style. Nice to have early mornings till late evenings. Recorded videos are convenient for me to take it anytime and any format I want. I normally sign up Pilates or abs class on live then after that I take Barre or yoga video. I liked stretch class at night. All Easy to follow, good expirations of forms. I enjoy it everyday. Thank you!
