Can’t identify plants
I just purchased the app with hopes of getting myself more organized with my watering and fertilizing schedule, but every plant I scan is resulting with the wrong plant. I don’t always remember the names of the plants from the ones I have had for years so basically I’m scrolling through small pictures hoping to find the one that looks most similar to mine. Yes, I followed the instructions with good lighting, the entire plant in the picture and made sure no other plants were in the background and I still had wrong results. I’ll be requesting my money back for the year purchase it seems
Not enough info
I’ve found that there are several plants that aren’t available, and there are no options for choosing which varieties of plants. For example, bush varieties vs pole varieties, which need different care. There’s also no info about germination. The subscription is expensive considering there are countless websites online that can give you all of the information provided in this app. Without forking out the extra money for the premium service, this app is almost useless. Every time I saw something that might be useful, I was met with more and more asking for my money. This is a great concept and I was excited to have a central place to keep my plant care organized and to get help when I need it as a beginner/moderate plant parent. But plant care alone being costly as it is, I have no desire to spend money on a subscription service for information that I can access with a quick google search. If it were a one time purchase I’d be much more willing to give this app a chance but I can’t justify spending several dollars a month. TLDR: it’s a good concept and might be nice for a busy person with a high number of plants, but is too expensive to be useful, and does not have much variety for plant types.
Not helpful
It misnamed a lot of my succulents and didn’t give any solutions to problems the plants have. Waste of my money as I paid for the year with high hopes.

Super impressed but already want more features
I just bought a bunch of plants for the first time in years and thought there was probably a watering schedule app by now. This one blew my expectations out of the water and I immediately purchase a year subscription to premium. I’ve been poring over the care details for everything. Super impressive! The only thing I wish it had so far is care for seedlings/propagations. Maybe that’s too much to ask and I need to look for a different app for that but seems like a gap.
Plant Care + Photography (sort of)
Hands down the most used app on my phone. I’m currently keeping 70+ plants not only alive but thriving!! Devs have done an incredible job updating it over the years; they’re super responsive and friendly. Pro membership is worth every penny! Thank you, Planta team. 💚
Doesn’t remind me on the correct watering dates.
Which is the primary reason I have the app. I’ve been using this app for a few years but now I’m having constant issues with the watering dates. For example, I set plants for watering every 7 days and won’t get prompted until 14 days or 21 days no matter how many times I re-set it. It looks like I’m going to have to find a new app and re-load all my plant info . . .
Plants for Mental Health
Possible my favorite thing I do for my own mental health. Everything is beautiful and well organized. Adding plants and learning about them is almost effortless. Gives me pleasurable control in a chaotic jungle of hoarded house plants. 😂
Message to App Developer!!
When I bought my first plant I killed it in practically a week. Long story short this app has helped me keep ALL of my plants healthy, and I’ve been using it for a little over a year. Since I pretty much use Planta daily I’ve been looking to add a widget (I change my Home Screen way more than I should) I would LOVE an update where we can add widgets with any daily tasks!!!
