Goodbye financial stress, hello Banktivity! Banktivity lets you see all of your accounts in one place so you can make smarter financial decisions. Ditch your old worn out finance software. Banktivity is the best – you deserve it, your finances deserve it! "Banktivity is like taking the best of YNAB, Quicken, and MoneyDance and mixing them together beautifully." – Kenny Drobnack Exceptionally good technical support via live chat and email with US-based representatives. √ GET ORGANIZED The first step in money management is to get all your finances in one place. If you’ve used software like Quicken (for Mac or PC), Banktivity's set-up assistant will import your old data. Next — or if you’re just starting out — download current transactions from your bank accounts online, at no cost, via direct connection to your bank or by using Banktivity's built-in browser to view your accounts and download your data for free. Banktivity's optional Direct Access* service makes this even easier by connecting to over 14,000 banks worldwide, automatically delivering the latest transaction data to your Mac. √ SEE WHERE THE MONEY GOES Banktivity has the tools you need to set up checking accounts, savings, credit cards, real estate, mortgages, investments and budgets. Then track each and every transaction: fine-tune them by categorizing, tagging, splitting or making custom edits — or let transaction templates do the work for you. Attach receipts or any file to transactions; reconcile to paper statements; search; track payments or transfers in any currency; and manage repeating events with scheduled transactions. Banktivity also lets you pay bills online! Set up payees, send checks, track their progress and see them appear in your register. You can print checks, too. Update your accounts at once with Banktivity's Update Everything button, syncing devices and fetching Direct Access data, securities prices even currency exchange rates. √ BUILD SAVINGS Banktivity's budgeting tools help you to set saving and spending goals, track expenses, cut debt and build a more secure future. By giving your available cash specific purposes, envelope budgeting lets you assign money to different categories and carry over savings. Banktivity automatically budgets scheduled transactions like paychecks and bills, so by categorizing each expense and editing the budget itself, you can see where your money goes — and how to make it go further! Banktivity does this visually so that you can see your daily progress; compare past, current or projected budgets; and view it all in a Budget vs. Actual report. √ SECURE YOUR FUTURE Banktivity's investment features manage stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, 401Ks, CDs and other assets. You can track buys, sells, splits, dividends, options and more. Banktivity calculates IRR, ROI and gains and losses. You can even pick which lots you've sold from. Built-in report templates (Income & Expense, Net Worth, Payee Summary and more) dynamically analyze your finances. Assign tax codes to transactions to generate a Tax Summary report (or export data to TurboTax); or view your holdings in the Portfolio or Investment Summary reports. Banktivity's reports instantly generate graphs and charts. You can drill down for detail with a click, export table data to spreadsheets, and print reports or save them as PDFs. √ WE’RE THERE FOR YOU - BEST IN CLASS SUPPORT No matter where you are, you can enter transactions on the go with Banktivity for iPhone (free on the App Store), or sync accounts, budgets and investments to Banktivity for iPad for mobile money management (iPad app sold separately). If you need help, get unlimited email support or Live Chat for answers quickly. Banktivity offers built-in Help files, plus a downloadable user manual, a searchable Knowledge Base and video tutorials at our site. *Direct Access subscriptions via In-App Purchase.
Software support is text only and not always helpful or effective. To make Banktivity effective requires a subscription to "Direct Access" via the Banktivity app. The support for Direct Access is even less than the texting support for Banktivity. This software has been around for several years and it's support and improvement are slowing down.
I use this to track my home finances and also the income and expenses from my piano studio. It makes fantastic reports for my accountant and the direct connection solved some issues I've had with other money apps.
I've been using this app for many years. It's far better than the last 12-15 years' versions of Quicken. It's not perfect, but is actively developed, with changes implemented regularly. Recommended.
I downloaded this app and should have known better. "in app purchases is a big warning sign!" & day free trial will turn into $70 at the end. OK I will give it a try if it does what I want, looking for a running total. Then you get to the setting up the auto downloads. Another $40 for that. I tried the manual and it would not let me. Stay away.
I purchased Banktivity after being a Quicken user for many years when I was mad that Quicken switched to a subscription service after purchaing the software. I was happy with the import feature from Quicken, but there are some things I don’t like about Banktivity. These are things I wish they would improve: There is no ability to view all of your transactions, for all accounts together. So if you are looking for a particular transaction, you have to go through each account if you can’t remember which account the transaction was in. Likewise, I would like to export all of my transactions from all of my accounts into a CSV file, but it only allows you to export selected transactions, account by account, which is very cumbersome. And finally, there is no ability to modify reports or to make your own reports. The category report only has the “note” field, but not the “memo”. I didn’t realize this until I had populated the “memo” field with a description of every transaction, which is easier since it’s right next to the category field, but there is no ability to include “memo” in a report.
I had used Microsoft Money for years because it was easy to use and did everything I needed it to do. I continued using it even after Microsoft discontinued it. With Banktivity, I have finally found a replacement that is also extremely easy to use, does everything I need, and has features that make it more versatile than anything I used before. After 15 days of my 30 day free trial, I decided to go ahead and purchase it, and I am very happy with how well it works for me. I would highly recommend it!
Looking for a Quicken replacement. Imported QIF file and Banktivity did not handle stock splits properly. Resulting in MANY less shares than are actually owned. Is this a mess that is worth trying to remedy? It was all straight in Quicken 2007. Also would prefer to be able to sort acounts by kind so bank, CC, brokerage would be grouped together. Can workaround by re-naming I suppose. Frustrated the latest Quicken is terrible and other apps have huge hurdles during import making it a non-starter. It's just numbers and dates – how is it so difficult for apps to get 100% precision on this?
These folks are a modest sized group of individuals that have been around for a while now, and put out a great product that is very adapatable to our needs. I had an issue connecting to my bank, and they shortly escalated the concern and got on the phone with me and my bank to sort it out. All good now. They deserve a better rating than they have. I'm sure folks run into issues, as the app is interacting with countless financial institutions, but work with them before jumping on here to give them a bad review and/or bad rating. For those who think they can have Family Sharing, read below: In-app purchases can't be share with family members. You might check to see if that same rule applies if you buy directly (which I ended up doing).
I purchased the direct access subscription for one year. However, when attempting to sync to my bank account, the software rejected my login credentials even though the same credentials were able to log me into the site directly. What I paid for did not work. I will not be renewing with Banktivity.
Despite complaints to the help line, numerous updates and suppossed “bug fixes” the program, and attempts at executing the workaround, the program still crashes when I print checks, and, if not saved, looses all the work, thereby printing checks which do not show in the register. What’s so hard about this? Why don’t the updates solve the problem? Is anybody out there listening? I would rate it lower (1 star), but Quicken for iOS is even worse, if such a thing is possible.
