Good app with a couple flaws

Been using this app for a while very good for finding programs and stuff but it’s logged me out twice in the middle of a workout and couldn’t log back in for several days might just be a problem with my phone.

The best freakin app ever

Tracks your reps the weight and how hard it was for you the short cut to size program is godly I highly suggest that before any thing else

Recent Login Issues

I’ve been with Bodybuilding since 2010. Hands down think they have the best plans and best UI on the market. It really pains me to have to rate the app this low but in its current state it’s (literally) unusable. This is the second time in approximately 2 weeks the app simply has just not allowed me to log in. According to “is it down” this is an issue for the entire user base. Given my longevity with the company I’m gonna “stick it out” one more time; but, give that this is a paid service, I can’t justify dumping a monthly payment into this if it just randomly kicks offline. Fingers crossed this doesn’t happen again!

Hit or miss when the app will work

I’ve had this app for years. The content is GOLD. But in the most inconvenient times the app crashes. More often than not it’ll say “network error”. You’ll be at the gym and screwed because you can’t pull up your workout. Because of how often it happens I’m starting to wonder if we should get our money back when we physically can’t use the app. I depend on this to tell me what to do each day. It’s getting ridiculous how often it crashes and doesn’t work for hours-days.

The app is often unusable. The application seems to suffer from constant outages and does not work “offline”. Save your money!

Too Many Bugs

It’s clear does not prioritize the BodyFit app maintenance. It breaks often but when it does work it’s ok. There are plenty of programs to choose from and good demos built in. The downsides include duplicate entries for the same exercise—sometime with the exercise name plural or with a dash after it—making tracking weights and reps across sessions inconsistent. It is also hard to find the substitution exercise that would be a natural choice. Like if I want to replace a cable row with a machine row the machine row won’t be in the list but maybe tricep exercises will be there. The backend database needs cleaned. Is it worth $5 a month—yea. Is it worth $10+ a month—no.

Multiple Server Issues

I think the app is pretty good as far as it’s usability and the workout programs. I use it all the time. But one thing that has plagued the use of it, is it’s reliance on being connected to their network, especially when it’s down. It doesn’t have any offline capabilities. Note to developers: consider creating the ability to locally store the workouts people are using. That way if your service is down, people can still use the app that we are paying monthly to use. That is one option, and I’m sure their are more. At the end of the day, being able to use the app when there isn’t a connection for whatever reason would be a minimum expectation. Especially with the recent price increase

Doesn’t work when you need it

Twice in a month I’m at the gym about to start my workout when I discover the app doesn’t work. Customer service is non-existent and they don’t compensate you for their product not working, even though you pay a monthly subscription.
