Needs balancing

It's a great metroidvania, but the levels are super easy then suddenly there's a huge difficulty spike with a boss with questionably unfair moves. I think the balancing needs better tuning.

Fun game

It’s a quick fix for Dark Souls fans. Especially if you only have a minute here and there to play. Could use more variety in weapons/armor….beat it in a couple days. Good game, I’ll probably forget the name of the game in a week or so honestly.

2022, 4 years later, still one of the best iOS games I’ve played. Definitely recommend Gameplay/Combat - 8/10 Controls - 8/10 Level design - 7/10 Sound - 10/10 Stability - 10/10 Narrative - 5/10 For anything that had less than a 10, it’s mostly due to the game’s overall simplicity. But each of aspects were polished enough to leave you with an excellent experience.

Best $7 I’ve spent in a while!

Love this game! Just started Act II, about 3 hours in, and already I’m hooked! Takes elements from several different genres and blends them together very well. Never played Castlevania and have only played (and beat) Metroid Dread, but I can see me playing this A LOT! Might even check out others in the genre now. Great game, worth way more than they’re asking! (Side note, can’t comment on touch controls, have only played with controller.)

EXCELLENT Game, Worth Every Penny

Grimvalor is one of those games that really shows that mobile gaming can be a great experience, and it’s worth every penny if you like what you see on the trailer. Let me just give a few highlights. Sound: I was really impressed by the sound design, from the music to the sound effects, it was all very atmospheric and felt like I really was experiencing an epic, high-stakes adventure. Controls: I played using a backbone controller, and I have to say the game was incredibly fluid and responsive. The mechanics and the physics were tightly tuned made me feel like an action hero. If I died (and I died a lot) I knew it wasn’t because of unfairness in tthe controls Difficulty: This game is challenging, seriously, and I loved it. I died many times on the standard difficulty, but there was nothing unfair about it. You need to have good reflexes, or you will develop them quickly, in order to finish this game. I was very pleased to see the availability of New Game+, which is definitely harder if the first boss is any indication. Conclusion: Grimvalor is one of the best games for the money that you can get on Mobile. The basic gameplay loop is satisfying and addicting, the difficulty is perfect for those seeking a challenge, and the sound design is really good! Like I said, if you look at the trailer and think it looks like your kinda game, just buy it, you probably won’t regret it. These developers need to be commended, and I hope they make more games in the future!
