there are times where the narrator takes 45 seconds to simply explain a basic concept, and other times where they ask a ton of questions to try and understand where i’m at. id rather have an option to select i’m a beginner/intermediate and have some direction, but not 45 seconds of explaining what the definition of gratitude is. after receiving the definition, the dude just kept saying relax and barely talked for 3-4 minutes, i got so bored and couldn’t relax because nothing was happening, why wasn’t he leading me towards gratitude?? some sessions work great but others are a complete waste of time and makes it hard to want to do it daily. i’ll probably start working towards doing on my own or finding a content creator that does a better job and is more focused on what i want. 3/5 and i definitely wouldn’t pay for the subscription had it not been free for a year
Hi. I struggle with anxiety, depression and ADHD, making it kinda difficult to work, sleep, etc. So I tried this like many apps, thinking it would be one of those other meditation apps. But it’s a great reminder in my day! I tried other apps and they just had mediation. This app has vibration meditations, body scans, it’s great. I highly recommend this to anyone who is dealing with metal issues. It really makes me feel better, thanks Balance! P.S. To me, Leah sounds better than the guy voice. ( I forgot his name ) He kinda sounds creepy, sorry dude… Jules <3
The concept is great— an app that alters how it connects with you depending on your needs. But, I found the facilitators talking too much throughout, which made it difficult to go deeper. I also noticed that concepts were lightly touched on rather than more deeply practiced— the advance pack, for example, had only two days of lovingkindness and one day so far of spotlighting. Something like headspace would have ten days of lovingkindness. I hope adjustments to these to areas are made
There are many many many wonderful and beautiful meditation apps out there, but none has helped me stick with the practice like Balance has! It’s so well thought out and well, balanced! You should really give it a try!
Ever feel like you may have adhd but we’re never diagnosed? This helps. It helped me with the symptoms at least.
I have a really hard time with medication normally because it’s hard for me to sit still and sometimes take time for myself. Balance was something I got with Elevate and I’m never disappointed! This app is so great for guided meditations and has SO many cool things about the app. I wanted headspace because a friend liked it but when I found out about Balance, I was sold right away! This app has everything in one and I really appreciate the design and effort that went into this app. 10/10!
I find the voice in this app relaxing. Good tips. My mind wanders a lot and the tips of labeling are good. I am receiving encouragement. I am hopeful after a 10 minute session.
There is no shortage of meditation and mental health apps. I have tried quite a few while some were not bad but using Balance I do not need to keep searching because I found what works for me. Easy to use while still making the plans unique to the individual
This App really helps in most any situation I am developing coping skills and strategies daily
I didn’t like it. It felt condescending. It would ask a question like “were you able to concentrate during the last session?” Then the voice would say, that’s great you were able to concentrate last session! Too formulaic. I wanted to turn the preamble off completely. Then it started repeating the previous session as if I hadn’t done that one so I stopped. The lessons didn’t progress correctly due to a bug or something.
