Love this app! Have had it for a few weeks and it’s really helping me use things in my pantry before they go bad and be more organized about planning and cooking. Love the link with my receipt from the store and that it figures out how long the items will keep. I love searching for recipes using items I have on hand. The substitution suggestions are great. The recipes too.
This app’s concept is genius. Its an efficient approach to food planning that saves time, money, and food waste. Super useful to reference while at the store. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve wondered whether I have [ingredient], purchased it, and come home to find that I already have the item. Also, I really like the feature where their recipes give you options to swap niche items out that you may not have in your existing spice cabinet (and may not intend to purchase) for more generic substitutes. It’s a modern approach to cooking; solves real life busy people problems.
This app is so freaking cool!!!! It syncs with my grocery store so it knows what’s in my pantry?!? That’s genius!!!!
Now I’m have trouble with it not down loading what I got @ the store to go in pantry. I’ve checked the connection it’s fine. It hasn’t shown the last time I’ve been to store. I’ve been putting them in by hand.
My family loved this! I switched out the Taco Seasoning for Cajun and salsa for homemade spaghetti sauce.
This app is second best to Supercook in terms of available features. They offer recipes that are actually based on what I have in my pantry and provide an ok variety. I’m looking forward to what they add in the future. If I could give a couple suggestions- -All of the food suggested to add to my pantry seems to be Great Value products. I have no idea why. I don’t buy Great Value products and it forces me to search for what I’m actually looking for. It makes the app feel like there’s excessive and needless branding and makes it more difficult to find what I actually want - there are a lot of steps to add food to my pantry that aren’t in the premade lists. I don’t know why but it felt very tedious to add something as simple as frozen artichoke hearts. I couldn’t find frozen ones, and then I could find ones that were generic so I, yet again, had to choose Great Value.
Solid, efficient, pretty amazing actually. Still needs some work, but it’s new and they seem to be workin hard on it. I feel like they’re only missing pieces of the pantry management. As far as deleting items after the scheduled plan date passes. Super happy with it so far. ** edit ** pantry managements been updated. Yup his app has made my life considerably easier cooking for 4. THANK YOU!!
I love this Recipy app just wish it didn’t cost for a lot of the recipes
I love all the features
This app has a feature that it does better than anybody else- narrow down what recipes you can make with what’s in your pantry. But the app is so buggy and hard to work with! It’s very frustrating! You can “import recipes from the web”, but sometimes it just says the recipe only calls for “water” or “butter” and it leaves out all the other ingredients, so it thinks you can make it when you actually can’t. Sometimes, you’ll scan in your brown sugar, but it will be quietly labeled as “cane sugar”, so any recipes that have brown sugar will not show up. And if you try to change the “cane sugar” label to “brown sugar”, sorry bud, no can do. Sometimes it says you have everything you need to make a recipe, but that’s only because it says chili oil and vegetable oil are interchangeable, or to use maple syrup instead of sugar…? Sometimes if you’re manually putting in a recipe, it will just change one ingredient for no reason and refuse to be fixed. As one of many examples, my crepe recipe calls for flour. The app changed it to “chickpea flour”, so it never registers as “you can make this with what you have” because I don’t have chickpea flour, which I never even said was in the recipe. I have tried many times to edit these ingredient slip-ups, but it stubbornly remains incorrect. There’s no tagging system or sub folders so it’s kind of a chaotic mess, “baking chocolate” doesn’t exist, and there’s no such thing as making an ingredient optional. A lot of the recipes they have are bad, so I’ve taken to just adding every recipe I find online that looks good and then sorting through “my recipes”. Despite ALL of this, this app does the “what can I make with what’s in the fridge” function way better than any other cooking app I can find, so I keep desperately wrangling with it to try and get it to work properly. I tried to re-do my pantry today (because of all the weird labeling it does), and I haven’t been able to open the app for 20 minutes. The customer service is surprisingly easy to get in touch with, but they don’t often have any solutions. The way it handles food expiration is simple and well designed, with options to “freeze” things or to have the average expiration date from when you put in the item automatically attached to the ingredient, which is very nice. If it worked how it’s supposed to, it would be my favorite cooking app. I really hope they fix this app up.
