Love the features, but it does not navigate well. It gets hung up and is frustrating to change screens.
The reader should get an Emmy award. It’s very hard to read all these names and make it sound like you’re talking about your own family members. Bravo!
Dwell has been a heart & sanity saver. By having Felix read the Word of God to me with the acoustic guitar behind him, I’m encouraged, calmed, reminded and prepared. Thank you, Dwell App.
See other reviews for the many useful features of this app, and for how functional it is. So far as all that goes, I’d give it five stars. I do have one plea, though! I am a confessional Protestant Christian and do not believe that the deuterocanonical/apocryphal books are inspired, but, along with the Reformer Martin Luther, I do believe them to be “useful and good to read.” (For example, Judith tells a great and encouraging story, even if it is likely completely fictional, and verses from apocryphal wisdom literature inspired some of the phrases in the popular hymn “O Come, O Come, Emanuel.”) Furthermore, some Daily Office lectionaries (e.g., Anglican/Episcopal) feature readings from a handful of them. I don’t expect y’all to ever feature them in as wide an array of voices/translations, but seeing as the KJV for a long time included them, and there is an ESV version as well, one voice for each of those would be MUCH appreciated!
This app has changed everything. When you read it on your own, the voice in your head becomes robotic. But this app revealed the voice of God to me. Usually you restrict his voice and his Spirit to the passages that directly mention them. But now I understand. His voice, his Spirit, and his love are everywhere. He never abandoned humanity, and this app proves to me that he’s still pursuing us.
See previous review below. Now, the app, with dwell turned on for the chapter, it plays once and does not repeat. It only plays the background music after hearing it once. I have to go back into the app and start it over, which defeats the purpose of turning on dwell mode; what the app is named after. Not a big issue, but the audio will usually play around 3 times when I’m repeating a chapter. After that, it will play the background music and stop playing the voices. The chapter has to be started over to continue, instead of repeating, like it should.
Makes my day.So refreshing .. Thank You
Attempt reading of psalms to sleep says its a 1+ hour reading after a few min it stops. Im trying to sleep struggling w fear and anxiety and it repeatedly does this. One time it stopped for me to rate the app. I paid the 29 but even trial version shouldn't do this. So sad that it seems unreliable.
This is the best audio app ever! I would love more versions like NLT, CSB, NCV, etc.
This app is such a wonderful tool to help your mind and heart dwell on Scripture. It’s engaging, and there are so many options with it. It’s only $30 a year too, which is definitely worth it.
