Volume not working
Doesn’t work. Even after an hour on the phone with a very helpful tech IPHONE 10 fast WiFi. Going back to store tomorrow Now you need a special nickname to do a review. What a pain!!!
First, it often says that too many users are logged in, even though there is just one. Second, it often skips frames and you can see that second count is jerky. Basically it doesn't show everything -- on a 100 Mbps link. Third, the push notifications are only once 5 min by design. Stupidly rare if you're using it as a video nanny.
Sound never works
The need to click on agreement to load app when you get an alert and the live feed taking several minutes to load when something could be happening at your home? Worthless. In three days I have learned that this app allows a phone alert for sound and motion in an empty room every one-two minutes, and although the camera is set to record on alerts, when tapped, all recordings show an error that there is no file; it appears to a scheme (scam) to direct customers to pay for the cloud. More than that, the app only allows a limited number of recordings (which have icons for files that are not available)to be deleted at a time. The inability to access recordings in my sd card, as well as everything reported above makes this company worthless to me. I am returning the camera and deleting this unprofessionally made app.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this service for the last 6 months. However, after the last firmware update the app has taken the option to turn the microphone off and on. Not having this ability to turn the microphone off is too invasive for the members of the household. If this option doesn’t come back, I’ll have to cancel my service and find another system to go with. I’ll change my rating when this option returns.
Love the device, Ive had it for a couple months now. Has been one of the best purchases I've ever made, I can finally keep an eye on my baby girl (from wherever I'm at!!), can move the camera through the app, I can even hear and talk to her through it!!.. Well I use too. At first the app worked perfect, but for some reason it recently has started going downhill. it's been extremely choppy like it misses every couple seconds of video, it won't let me listen in after I talk to her through the mic unless I close the app and go back in. And now it won't let me hear anything in general, even after closing the app and reopening multiple time!! Somebody please help me, I would really appreciate any tips to fix these issues.
I have had one Dlink Camera for awhile and used a older app for it. Just got a new camera and it wanted me to used this app for it. Luckily my old camera will also work with this app so I don’t have to use 2 apps. The reason I am giving this 3 stars instead of 5 is there are a few things that annoy me about it. I shouldn’t have to Agree with the Agreements every time I want to get into the app. I should only have to do it once when I sign up for the app and that is it. It drives me crazy and takes extra time to get in to the app because of it. And on the Dashboard it shows my cameras as doubles instead of just my 2 cameras. So I see each camera twice.
Why doesn’t it support of the DSP 215?
Manufacturers keep chasing each other adding more and more unnecessary features. But they absolutely miss the key points. Why not make things simple? Where is continuous recording to micro SD? Why not make a button for it? What’s wrong with 480p or 360p? Why not make a camera a bit larger and have a slot for a regular SD card? Why not have controls from desktop?
