I have been waiting for someone to create this for years. I have loved using this app during my recent travels through Montana and South Dakota. The only downside is that if you lose internet access. You can’t access the clips. So I am hoping that development will get changed so that I can download them ahead of time so I can listen in those areas. By entering in the city I am going through and getting them ready. I have visited so many places I would have never know about if it wasn’t for this app. Thank you team Hearhear!
Limited things you can do. Pay for some audio stories that you can probably find on the discover channel or YouTube? Not a sustainable product.
I live in Eastern Washington.... The story pops up. Told the story of how building a dam caused the failure of fishing in the river. That’s not good accounting of the area. Why not the wineries or the indigenous people or the Travelers to the area? Or why it is called what the area is called. Sorry. Not for me.
This is really handy as a travel companion. Would love if it were built into an app I usually have on while driving (eg Google Maps) so I could choose to be interrupted whenever a HearHere story is available. Also wish they would up the production value a bit (voice only is quite dry). And wish the stories would give specifics about the geography, rather than just saying “here”, since I’m not looking at the UI while listening / driving. All in all a great start, keep going!
Take it one step further! Make this work with CarPlay. We’re not suppose to touch our phones while we’re driving but if it’s on CarPlay Siri can help out.
I love the concept but its implementation is weak. The articles are really short. Also, they are pretty much what you would expect from a tourist brochure. There is nothing new or special (and sometimes not even that accurate). Basic attractions description and historical background. The price is not commensurate with the quality of the contents
The app continues to crash when I try to open. This has been persistent for weeks. Please fix.
Removing this app is difficult. The button for activation Hearhere is always in the way obscuring screen. Big Mistake loading this “always in the way” app.
Here’s 5 stories now pay us. Not mentioned in Instagram ad!! There’s probably 200 in California and more on the west. Kind of hard to call it a road trip app when at least 50% of the country is missing from stories!! In the future, please finish an app before releasing it!! Thanks!!
