It’s Just Like Having a Tour Guide in Your Car™ WHAT TO EXPECT: Rocky Mountain National Park boasts the very best of what Colorado and the Rocky Mountains has to offer: unbelievably scenic mountains, awesome hiking and superb wildlife viewing. But perhaps the most memorable aspect of the Park is that it was created with the driving visitor in mind. Nowhere else in the country can you drive a scenic route that brings you above the treeline and into the alpine tundra for 11 miles, peaking at altitudes over 12,000 feet. Or you may want to follow the historic route that the earliest visitors drove in their Stanley Steamer or Model T’s on the Old Fall River Road. There are many scenic viewpoints including Rainbow Curve Outlook and Mushroom Rocks Overlook along the driving route, and easy, accessible trails at Sprague and Bear Lakes. Hear all about the “Father of Rocky Mountain National Park” and the other influential characters who fought and invested heavily to preserve this area. But many visitors are drawn by the excellent wildlife watching opportunities. Especially during the Fall rut when male bull elk and moose are fending off rivals, vocally and physically. We’ll point out the best locations to keep watch and increase your chances. This is a truly unique experience that has thrilled drivers and passengers since the 1920s. The tour officially starts and ends close to each entrance of the Park; Beaver Meadows and Fall River from Estes Park, and Grand Lake from the West. Or you can join and pick up the commentary anywhere along the route. Narration will automatically trigger at the next commentary point. WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Highlights along the tour route include • Trail Ridge Road • Old Fall River Road • Estes Park • Bear Lake • Rainbow Curve Outlook • Mushroom Rocks • Sprague Lake • The Stanley • Holzwarth Historic Site • Many Parks Curve Outlook • Grand Lake • Lava Cliffs Don't miss out on the best stops and stories. This is the best purchase for visiting a national park. It was like having a guide, a historian, a geologist, a botanist and park ranger in the car as we drove around RMNP. Very interesting and entertaining without being corny or boring! Just the right amount of information with new information when you turned around and drove out along the same route. Will purchase for each park I visit going forward. Great job and thanks so much!!
We really enjoyed this guide through RMNP. Great stories, enjoyable commentary, personable voice. Would definitely purchase again for other trips.
I’m just returning from a road trip that included Yellowstone, Grand Teton, & RMNP. The apps were absolutely AWESOME! Worth every penny and then some! You won’t regret it. Easy to use, pause, skip. All enjoyable easy listening with fun and informative info.
This is the fourth time using this app. Never disappointed. Great narration very informative.
This is great, we used this in Yellowstone and most recently in Rocky Mountain National Park- so helpful and great info, especially for the driver who is concentrating!
I bought this tour in a recommendation from a friend. My wife was very skeptical of the tour. The intro was a bit cheesy and I could see her face, BUT after the second information portal she was sold as I was. The advice to stop and explore various areas and skip others was invaluable. It made our limited time in this park extraordinary. Half way through I told her that there were tours for 4 of the parks we are visiting in Utah in a month or so. Bought them that day! Great tours!!!!
This was well worth the money! It was like having our own personal tour guide! We enjoyed the points of interest that were told to us as we drove through the park. We were given options when we would get to a turn in the road. He has a nice soothing voice. We couldn’t get it to go through our car usb on the iPhone so just listen with the speaker on the phone. My battery kept getting low so would have to plug in while he wasn’t talking. Was sad when the tour came to an end but will diffidently use gypsy guide when going through other National Parks. We will tell all our friends! Thanks!
Used this app while driving through RMNP and it made the trip so much more enjoyable. It’s like having a tour guide in the back seat. It knows exactly where you are and the direction you’re heading, and it tells you the history of what you’re seeing. Well worth the (small) cost.
Great App! Well worth the $6.99. Made our day in RMNP easy, interesting and educational! Will use again for other trips if it’s available. A+++
Worth every penny!!! For RMNP first timers, this app was perfect!! We saw more of the park than I anticipated simply because of the suggestions made along the way! Plus, the nerd in me really enjoy the historical and park information provided along the way!
