I needed to reset my password and the security question wasn’t accepting my response, even though I’m certain my answer was correct. I offered to provide a copy of my ID and passport, but they still wouldn’t let me use my email with my account even when I said they could just delete my account and have me start fresh. Incredibly frustrating since I wasn’t even asking for any data and had legal documents that prove my identity.
I have been using Igg Software financial apps since they first came out. This app is beautifully realized.I was able to import the MacOS data file with all its categories. The iPhone GUI is well thought out. Mac, iPhone, and iPad apps synch every time so far. Caveat emptor—budgeting is not supported on the iPhone.
The good: Banktivity 7 works very well as a general checking account / savings account tool for managing my finances cross platform Desktop/iPad/iPhone. A little tricky to get their cloud setup working but works. The bad: Do not expect to manage all your financial accts with Banktivity. Getting it to work with E-Trade or Vanguard to provide a correct picture of my accts. is simply not worth the time/aggravation. I was hoping for a one stop app to see a consolidation at a glance - Banktivity is not that app.
I really like Banktivity on the Mac. It would be nice if the iOS version could connect to OFX accounts so that I can update my financial documents on the go without a need for my MacBook. If the iPad version could update the OFX accounts then I would buy it. Dark mode support would be nice. Because of the missing OFX piece I view this app and the iPad version as more of a companions to the Mac version but severely lacking.
The mobile app does not sync with the program running on my home computer.
I like this app, but for some reason it will no longer automatically update my info from my Chase accounts. I paid for the app solely because of this functionality, so now it feels like I wasted my money. Updated 2/02. It still won’t link, even though the most recent update should have corrected the issue.
I’ve loved this product for years but there is a bug that still hasn’t been fixed. When you use the desktop version to reconcile your bank statements and add transactions during the balancing process (from within the reconcile screen), the items that you add don’t get included in your sync document that shows up on your phone. So I end up with different numbers and have to do lots of research to see where the problem is.
I switched from YNAB4 to Banktivity and I miss YNAB4. This app does what it needs to do, but the process is cumbersome. Why do I have to enter decimal points when entering a receipt? Why does a split transaction take so many extra steps? Banktivity is a powerful program but it comes at the expense of simplicity and ease of use. I miss both of those.
It appears I wasted several days on this app. It downloaded my investments from past three months and made adjustments to make the totals right BUT it totally screws up dividends and reinvestment showing them the opposite of what they are from Fidelity. It shows my cost basis as $0.00, which is absurd. It takes a reinvestment at $1 and turns it into $2. Apparently the running balance in the account is for Cash, but Fidelity uses a Fund like SPAXX or FDRXX and these are completely screwy. I did a search online and find nothing at all for investment accounts.
Endless one-time password loop verification process with chase bank. Unable to use this product in any way.
