saved me I was on a website looking at mini ramps for my back yard and I soon as I know I got a virus protection update I got scared downloaded avast and it got rid of the virus thank you so much ily
Wish I had looked at reviews before buying. It just didn’t work. Only locked me out of the few things I could get into. I just had to restart my iPad from the beginning to get it to work.
I don’t really have any way of knowing that the app is actually working. It isn’t alerting me to obvious spam. AND.. when I get emails with what I know are malicious attachments (zip files, etc) it does not flag them. Not even sure it’s protecting anything. WORST is the VPN feature, which constantly bogs down and will not allow me to connect to the network. Pretty disappointing. My advice is don’t waste your money. I did purchase Avast for my MacBook and I’m happy with that. Just expected this app to work the same way, and unfortunately it does not.
Nice to see a business model that takes your money and does not work on a public WiFi system as the updates DO NOT WORK, RELOADING THE SOFTWARE APP DOES NOT WORK. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PATHETIC WASTE OF MONEY FROM A COMPANY THAT REFERS TO CUSTOMERS AS A WASTE OF TIME. FURTHERMORE THEIR BUSINESS MODEL OF CHARGING FOR SIMPLE TROUBLE SHOOTING IS BS.
I have used Avast for many years. I have tried others and found them either ‘user unfriendly’, or ‘OOPS! Missed a virus’. I would then go back to Avast, reinstall, and watch it quarantine the missed viruses.
It’s really easy to use...it said some things were wrong but it cleared them up in no time...I’ve looked for a good app and I found one...thank you!!!
People don’t get it.o ya they tell you it’s free to download. But what they fail to to tell you is there is a charge to use it after download. So people don’t be taken. I give this app an all 👎s down :) 😂
When this works, it works well. But every few days it locks up with the VPN off while yet saying it’s on. At that point it’s impossible to switch the VPN on again without uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Eventually, however, even doing this didn’t work, so I uninstalled it for the last time. The app has potential. But they need to spend more time on design and testing instead of on gimmicky screens. As it stands, this app reflects badly on Avast’s reputation. And that’s a shame.
It works ok on my laptop and I’ve had a paid subscription for a while. Now I am unable to turn it off when I want to watch cable programs on my iPad as cable subscription won’t connect while VPN is on. Since I have a paid subscription I uninstalled and downloaded the VPN Proxy app which seems to work ok since I can turn it off when necessary. Unnecessarily confusing.
Just added Avast for Mac. Terrible. Slows my iPad Pro. The VPN causes freezing and dropped sites. Next to useless for iPhone or iPad.
