I’m a writer and love the convenience of Otter which has worked better for me than other apps I’ve tried. Over all its accuracy has been improving and its voice recording quality is good. What has been a problem for me is the clunkiness when editing. Simply getting the two cursors to the right point in the text has been aggravatingly difficult and then once there instead of the one word I’m trying to replace or the punctuation I’m trying to add several words or several lines will select themselves instead and I’ll have to start the process all over again. And back at its location once again I’m still having to retype back in the several others next to it. The other issue I’ve been having are the recording and transcription limits (90 minutes per session) even after upgrading to pro. And the only next level they offer is business which is not available to use on my phone and which charges for features I don’t need. The other thing which would add value for me would be to be able to see at a glance the list of my writing and meeting notes with the information next to each one whether it has been saved to a cloud (by me or by the app) and if so to which one.

I have been defrauded of several months use if my yearly membership because the app won’t recognize my sign in. I may have to turn it over to my credit card for fraud since I have no answers to my support queries.
It’s easy to use, but I feel like it would be even better if there was a watch app.
Something changed recently and it’s creating lots of extra work. I’ve transcribed two conversations in the past week that looked normal at first, with the speakers comments broken out in paragraphs and time stamped normally. Then, all of a sudden, the transcript refreshes and the entire thing collapses into a single paragraph of run on text time-stamped 0:00. Not helpful!! I’m having to spend time going through the transcript to recreate each section and add the paragraphs breaks back in. And it keeps freezing to “save and realign recording”
Its just a simple voice distation program. It does not group or edit content. Might as well hit the dictate button in Word. Does the same thing. Waste of money.
I am a paying pro user and I have found the app very helpful to assist in taking notes. I type my notes alongside my graduate study lectures. However my lectures run longer than the pro features have allotted for time. I have lots of space on my storage as a pro user, however, the app is crippled and prompts me to upgrade to enterprise version. I understand this method of encouraging an upgrade from free to pro, but I am far from an enterprise user but wouldn’t expect time limit for recording length after being a paying customer.
This app works well for a fee app, allowing a generous number of Fred minutes each month. I find it very helpful to be able to click in confusing spots in the transcription & listen again while I see how it was transcribed. One tip is, if trying to copy the transcription to paste in another application, it will only allow copying individual paragraphs between pauses. If you wait several hours before doing so, the app will consolidate paragraphs into larger groups making it much easier to copy the text.
I’ve unsubscribed ALL EMAILS from the setting sections and this app still keep spamming me with MARKETING EMAILS — DAILY
I’m enjoying using otter but do find a number of features quite clunky. It’s not intuitive to access recordings and exporting files to a different doc has also been a little clunky so far, overall I’m still invested in optimizing it and continuing to work with this app
