The Garmin Drive™ app is a simple and convenient app solution for the latest Garmin automotive navigators and dash cams. Visit garmin.com/driveapp for a list of compatible devices. For compatible navigators, the Garmin Drive app provides real-time information for traffic, parking, advanced weather, and photoLive traffic cameras, in addition to smart notifications from your Bluetooth-enabled mobile device. For compatible dash cams, the Garmin Drive app provides quick access to camera controls, settings, and recorded footage. Up to four dash cams can be wirelessly connected with the Dash Cam Auto Sync feature to provide comprehensive coverage around a vehicle, offering various viewpoints recorded by the multiple cameras. The Garmin Drive app can create a “picture-in-picture” video from any two perspectives at the same time, making it easy to review video and also share videos with friends, insurance agencies, or legal authorities. Garmin Speak™ and Garmin DriveSmart™ 65 with Amazon Alexa are two Garmin products that bring what you love about Amazon Alexa to your vehicle. Just ask Alexa to hear music, news, and more. Also, enjoy Garmin turn-by-turn navigation. Stream the audio (music and other responses) from your vehicle’s stereo when you connect Garmin Speak to your stereo using Bluetooth® or AUX. Older Bluetooth-capable Garmin navigators are compatible with the Garmin Smartphone Link app, and older Wi-Fi-enabled Garmin dash cams can access video footage through the Garmin VIRB app.
Promising but no lack of adjustment for camera settings assuming everyone will use the same settings is sad. If you have any type of fast car and you suddenly accelerate. It causes an event to be saved. If you then go and try to view the video on the Sd card the file is in a different directory. Also i have a tandem and a mini for the rear. I can have all 3 videos show up on a saved recording. Only two at a time.
I switched to Garmin after Tom Tom refused to update their app after an iOS update disabling traffic. Wish I made the move sooner. GPS is awesome and the app is great.
Really good for now!
I previously had a competing brand Dash Cam and their app was more intuitive and informative in regards to the meta data stored for the recordings. You could easily access an overview displaying map location, speeds, Etc. This app is so bland when it comes to accessing those features. I shouldn’t have to pull my memory card and export to a 3rd party program on my PC every time I want to review my trip info. Example: let’s say I want to show Law Enforcement a location of an accident where there is no obvious indications of where it was, say the interstate or highway. Ideally it would be nice to pull open the app, click the video for that trip or selected recording and display a map location with time, Etc. Catching on to what I’m saying here Garmin? This applies to us Dash Cam only drivers.
I just love this GPS Garmin make this device so easy to use and fun.
I think it is the best purchase I have made. Very easy to navigate.
Overall the app is pretty good. I have the garmin speak plus cam & i love it. Would love to see some integration with the GPS feature being able to pull from my iPhone instead of having to enter in the address to the Garmin app separately. Also would be nice to have the ability to have the Alexa feature control certain features from the smart phone like CarPlay.
Awesome app, live updates all the time
Definite improvement over the smartphone link app
