Worth every penny

Best app for Learning Japanese and other asian languages.
By Awesome that you can be

I would give 5 Stars but…

This app is amazing honestly so much better than Duo lingo so far. I don’t want to give 5 stars just yet because I have only had the app for about 3-4 days but already I have learned so much Spanish. With Duo lingo most of the time they just give you the answers and you don’t learn anything , they give you a placement test and if you don’t pass then you just start at the beginning. So far I have had a very good experience with this app and it’s actually really fun haha.

the layout is a little confusing ngl but it’s very easy to understand when you catch on. the app is great, i have both lingodeer and busuu downloaded (10/10 for japanese, both were rated very highly by native japanese speakers). j encourage you all to give this app a try bro

I absolutely love this app. I have been using it for a week and I know how to read Hangul. I can type a greeting and I know how to introduce myself and my nationality. This app is absolutely amazing. It truly is worth it!!! I don’t have a premium account cause I can’t afford it and it still is amazing!! I have no complaints at the moment for this. Download it now!

LingoDeer v. Duolingo in my opinion

I’d been trying to learn Japanese through Duolingo (Duo) for a full week when I realized I was missing a ton of information because Duo doesn’t explain grammar. I was learning basic vocabulary, hiragana and katakana but not sentence structure so, I set out to find an app that could supplement my Duo lessons. Literally one Google search lead me to LingoDeer (Deer) and it is amazing. There are long pragraphs explaining Japanese grammar and sentence structure. I now use Deer as my primary learning tool and Duo as the secondary. I still use Duo to learn Hiragana and Katakana because they make it more of a game and I learn better that way. But for speaking, reading, grammar and UNDERSTANDING sentence structure, Deer is the clear winner. I love it.

You only get two lessons for free.

I started to learn Japanese with this app and was really surprised at how good it was. I found I was learning faster than with Duo. But then I tried to get to the third lesson about professions, it was locked, even after I completed all the prior ones. The only next “lesson” I can click on is testing out of my current section. I would like to continue learning but it says it’s locked until I upgrade to premium, which is a bit out of my price range sadly. At $15 per month, a subscription to this service is more expensive than a Duolingo subscription, or even basic Netflix or Amazon Prime. A “lifetime” subscription is $300, which is close to the price of taking a class from a community college. :( This app is good, just wish more content was accessible without paying so much. I would rate this app higher if more content was available for free with ads.
