InstaCal is the missing menu bar calendar macOS deserves. InstaCal is an affordable, yet powerful calendar app that puts all your events right at your fingertips, always available in your Mac's menu bar. InstaCal is quick and convenient, and can be opened at any time with a configurable keyboard shortcut. From there you can view your calendar events, make changes, invite friends or even add new events. You can also see your Reminders list, and add new reminders as well as view and edit existing ones. You can use any of the calendars added to your Mac (those available in the Calendar app) as well as adding unlimited accounts from: - Google Calendar (view, respond to invitations, create new events and edit existing events) - Office 365 (view and respond to invitations) - Outlook (view and respond to invitations) InstaCal also includes: - Customizable calendar colors and overall appearance - Useful menu bar options (to replace the system date) - Touch Bar support - Support for Dark Mode If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are always working to improve our apps and add useful features requested by our customers!
This used to be a great app, but it no longer succeeds in updating Google calendar events, instead a refresh just creates a beachball and never finishes. Clicking the support link takes you to a defunct Google community.
love that I can view my day without opening a new calendar tab, exactly what I needed
When trying to edit a reminder, I can open and change it but there is no way to save the change. The only option is to delete it or click back into the main window and lose the change. The App Support line goes to Google which is no longer available. There is no email or telephone number for support. I have to make the needed change back in Mac Reminders.
This is a great concept, however it crashses randomly. If it didn't crash I would give it 5 stars. That said, this should be someething Apple has built into the OS.
This used to work ok. Now everytime i click on it it asks to add my google calendar, and i click on it to add it but then it gives me an error. so its not updating my google calendars and I hate seeing that error pop up daily
It does what it claims - I have a calendar with all the days of the week when I click it as a bonus it pulls in my Outlook calendar from work so I see my upcoming mettings too. I got used to clicking the calendar on my PC machine to see the days of the week. This does that. Anything that save me even a single click I give a thumbs up -
So far the app is functioning pretty well, but there is no way to contact support or access online help when something doesn't work as expected. For example, the app won't let me add an event to either my Outlook or Google calendar from InstaCal, but only to my local calendar. With that said, it does a good job of displaying events that are already on my Outlook and Google calendars.
I switched to InstaCal after Fantastical moved to a subscription model. It is a very functional easy to access your calendar from the menu bar app. You shouldn’t have any qualms about getting it to work with your Google Calendar - works great for managing my family’s 5 calendars. Feedback for the developer: - Please work with BarTender 2.0. Your menubar location seems hard coded to stay on the left. BarTender is a great app for organizing placement (I move you next to my clock and cardhop). Everytime I turn on my Mac you go back to your old location. - Please add a text field to the top of the drop down calendar that lets you enter text and then choose either a + icon to add it to your calendar, or a magnify glass to search for the item in your calendar. - Please add a shortcut to open a calendar app/website. You could let folks choose in preferences if it is Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, BusyCal, etc. I find myself double clicking on entries hoping to open the full calendar but I have to do it manually.
Yay! They fixed the O365 issue so I can see my work stuff. I wish it had dark mode but otherwise, it's a good replacement for Fantastical's update which makes me log seperately into different accounts rather than just pulling from the calendar/accounts I'm already logged into via MacOS. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This does exactly what you need without extra setup hassles. Using the calendars you're signed into in the main Calendar app is key, and a win when accessing a corporate calendar.
