No further purchases or subscriptions required for anything - A breadcrumb trail of your whole route is displayed on the map during the workout - A scale is shown on the map when you zoom, making it easy to see the distance to features - Load GPX routes and display them on top of the map to aid navigation - Routes are coloured by gradient: from red for steep uphill to blue for steep downhill - Get alerts when you deviate from or return to the GPX route - Waypoints in routes are shown as icons (supports "groundspeak" geocache data) - Shows a red compass pointing north and a green compass pointing to the start - Tap the green compass to see the distance to the start (double tap a compass to hide it) - "Smart Contours" use different colours to make it easier to read the terrain at a glance The app also has many, many more features (far too many to list here!). All this is included for a single one-off payment. There are no extra in-app purchases or subscriptions. If you own an Apple Watch and do any form of exercise, then WorkOutDoors is the app for you. Give it a go!
I found this app by mistake scrolling through Reddit and I can say I’m very pleased thus far. The application is simple and amazing. I love how it leaves the bread crumbs, tracking your location progress on the map. This is a must have app. My only complaint is the haptic feedback when pausing a workout, it seems a little off. Other than that the application is amazing.
Whatever you do this will track it, let you create custom workouts, give you all the data you need, and export to Strava, Garman, Apple Health, or other apps. The developers are also quick to respond to questions.
Absolutely the best app for the Apple Watch Ultra
Allows me to almost entirely replace my Garmin Forerunner 945 with the Watch Ultra. Sensor support, screens, mapping, data fidelity, and endless settings makes this such a solid workout companion. Thank you! Looking forward to the new features in development.
Always skeptical about seeing apps with great reviews ms so of course I took a look at all the critical reviews 1st and worked my way up. The negative reviews were picky so I moved on to the positive reviews and they were glaring. Checked a few Reddit pages and they also looked good so I decided to go in. The price is not a deal breaker, but after trying so many crappy gps / fitness tracking apps it takes you there. Downloaded and added to my Apple Watch and WOW this is a must have. Track’s perfectly on the watch and provides a GREAT SUMMARY after your run / walk / bike is done. Totally impressed!!! This developer and app is 1st class and I am so happy I picked it up. Saw another review saying it makes the Apple Watch better and I couldn’t agree more! Excellent work!
I’ve used this app for hiking, running, walking, and bootcamp-style workouts. It’s fantastic! I love being able to import a gpx file with a route and following it with my watch for hikes and runs. Works flawlessly. There was a minor issue when uploading a walk to Strava and so I reached out to the developer via email. He replied in 1 minute to quickly explain the issue and that a fix is already planned in the next update. Awesome! Go ahead and buy the app, it’s a steal for a small, onetime fee and the developer is extremely responsive to any issues you may run into.
Not only is the app amazing, tons of functionality and capability but the developer is pretty awesome and responsive too. WorkOutDoors is THE app to get for Apple Watch. I’m running it on the AW Ultra and it’s been fantastic. Really the only thing I’d like to see improve is the UI be polished in the Apple Watch app to tailor toward the curves of the Apple Watch screen and buttons / menus / all around UI not be cut off when navigating through the activity menu when an activity is open and being ran. If you haven’t bought it already you SERIOUSLY need too. It’s basically the only app that doesn’t have a subscription, which almost every app / service is now and customers HATE IT. Thanks, WorkOutDoors 😄
This app makes the apple watch a better product.
I had high hopes for this app, hoping and praying it would be the fix for all the different GPS mapping apps for runners. I loved setting up all the different options and custom display to my preference. The one defining issue for me, as a runner, is the inconsistent mileage it gives me with each and every run. Using the same course, one day the mileage notification would trigger 1/4 mile past the actual mile mark, then the next day it would notify me of my mileage 1/4 mile before the actual mile marker. For the most part, my old Garmin Forerunner 230 is still the most accurate to date.
Works great
