I downloaded the app and opened it. The first screen just told me I could pay $70 for pro or I could claim my free trial of pro (7 days free and then automatically subscribed me to $7/month after that). No thanks. Give me ads, but I don’t want to agree to pay that much without getting to test your basic version. No thanks.
It’s very useful
Wish I could type my words and have it spoke and translated
The nonstop subscription model is killing the iPhone. Jeeze, every app wants 9 million dollars a month now for their stupid app. Like this… translation junk - maybe 10 dollars and done… at most! Come on greedy iPhone destroyers… enough already. Yeesh!!!
How do you get past the first screen without subscribing? The wording indicates that selecting’try free’ is only for 7 days
Can’t get past opening screen without subscribing or the free 7 days which still requires you to give CC info. Nope.
The phone app rarely understands anything if it’s not absolutely quiet around you. Good luck having any conversation inside a store with people or in a busy plaza. Even moderately quiet it won’t hear you. The rest of the time it doesn’t translate anything due to connection. But the watch app works in the same spot.
This app, like many other translation apps does seem to work when individuals on each end have clear pronunciation. The voice to text is a great feature. Cutting out background noses will help. Simplify what is being communicated is helpful as well. The issues come with the spam like upgrade screens that pop up. Not to mention that the monthly or yearly subscription is always out of the question. If they charged $200 one time for a full upgrade I would pay that, however never would the subscription be an option. In all this is a good app that will hopefully continue to improve and add an option for a one time purchase of the full features.
I opened the app for the first time today, confronted by a screen that demands that I try the so-called pro version. There’s no way to close that screen, so I immediately deleted the app.
I am a native speaker of Spanish and English (and a couple more languages). This app could not understand ANYTHING I said in Spanish (my native language…). 100% failure.
